Being a Southlake kid, going to take a stab that the family is upper middle class to wealthy and the $$$ made so far through NIL is enough for him and family. He's either very self confident in his draft stock and abilities, doesn't think another year in CFB will really change how he's viewed or drafted or just plain dumb. May actually be a mix of all 3, lol..

Average price of a home in Southlake is 1.9 million. Pretty sure kid’s been taught well about finances.

Full NFL retirement vest is 3 years, and full medical after 5. The NFL contracts also have better protections then NIL deals, due to the players union.

Pass on 8 million for 1 year, the NFL will still be there, he's only 21, and a 3-4 rounder, another year to mature and up his draft stock would help.... not a great move in my opinion.

He is a smart safe QB, just like Colt, Colt went 11 years made over 27mil as a backup, and can still walk and talk.

To be honest, the few players Deboer brought from Washington were all lightly recruited, but solid players last year.

The portal isn’t always the players decision. I thought with Helm leaving he may get a shot next year.

Revenue Sharing

Looks like July 1, revenue sharing will begin, according to Dept of Education. Title 9 will be a problem on how they want it given out. This is Biden admin framework, could be all squashed.

Example for 2024. Alabama football profited 25 million. Men’s basketball profited 5 million. Every other program lost money, 10 million.

That’s ok, it’s important to have most those sports.
But to pay a women basketball players, the same as men’s basketball players isn’t the right answer.
