I walk the majority of the time because its good for me and because I enjoy it.
As for the affects on hunting... if you put a road feeder on your vehicle and get your deer accustomed to it, it is probably more effective than walking. Have seen first hand walking up to a blind deer see a person on foot spook and don't return till the feeder goes off, but deer spooked by a truck will hop into the bushes and you have a chance to get in the stand and they come back out almost immediately after the truck leaves.
I still like walking the majority of the time.

It takes about 10-12 minutes to walk the mile to my stand. I bet its not a mile to your stand. 10-12 minute mile is a hell of a brisk pace for a walk on pavement, much less a ranch road.

Ride depending on wind direction, then walk 200 to 400 yards.

I still like walking the majority of the time. Good point. Unless I'm hunting alone, I always drive right up to the blind, get my hunter(s) and everything of mine (EXCEPT my rifle) in the stand and quieted down. Then I corn senderos and in front of the feed pen. I then drive to my parking spot and walk back to the stand from downwind in darkness. We're all settled into the stand at least 30 minutes before the feeder goes off. If I'm alone, I just corn , park and walk back in with rifle and day pack.

It may take longer than that though, I was just guessing. I walk pretty briskly though. There is a road almost all the way to it.

I drive about 200 yards from the feeder and hunt out of my hunting pickup.

Closest is 2' behind blind. Furthest is 100 yards. Since the onset of PAD the last few years anything farther is not worth the effort.

1/4 to 1/2 mile if hunting a stand. Most of the time I'm hunting on the ground, though. And I still walk that far from my ride, most of the time.

I park the truck about 150 to 175 yards away from the feed, make sure it's angled right for Mrs. B to get a shot. We never get out of the truck.

I usually leave it where it gets stuck. Sometimes on the road prallel to my shooting lane, sometimes at the gate a 1/2 mile away. Last year I had a lot of stuff to take to the stand one morning and parked it about 50 feet away on the road. That morning I killed a big 8 that walked the road right past my truck.

Depends on the stand, some 200 yrds away, others on our lease are elevated on a hill and we are hunting way below and I'll park 20 feet from the blind, just depends.

At my place I leave the car in camp. I only have a 200yard walk to the far stand and 45yrds to the best stand. When I hunt with my friend the loud buggy that has the receiver hitch feeder on is parked right next to the stand. Got to get in the stand quick cause the road fills with deer when the key is turned off. I wish my place was like that but I'm blessed to get to hunt with my friend.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

Interesting topic. When I was young I would walk up to a half a mile across a plowed field to my blind. My current place will require me to use the 4 wheeler for some of the distance but I am one that has never wanted to get too close. I will probably park within about 300 yards on the road and walk the rest of the way.

Depends.
The smallest place I hunted was 400 acres. I'd drive in from the road about 50 yards to a spot where my truck was out of sight from passer-byers then I'd walk everywhere. That's not a big place to walk, I could use the exercise, I enjoy the walk and two gates (with cattle and donkeys) to drive through that I didn't want to mess with.
Bigger places I may (probably) drive. I've parked right next to blinds and I've parked a couple hundred yards away.
Also, I don't have a side-by-side or 4-wheeler so I'm in my truck when I do drive.

Most recently, my stand was about 50 yards from the road-- facing away. Shooting lanes were downhill at 75 yards on to the front then across a creek and back up hill further than I care to shoot (about 300 yards) then the side lane was downhill at about 100 yards, across the same creek then uphill about 1/4 mile.
I'd pull off the road and park in the wood line just inside the gate, about 30 yards from my stand. I chose that stand area because my knees hardly worked at all in 2013. They are moving better, but still use an arm crutch to get to and into the stand. (I use my son-in-law to retrieve my deer.) Fortunately, my .308 does a good job of dropping the deer quickly, so there isn't much tracking or searching.
The distance from the road isn't an issue and deer don't seem to be spooked at all by the sound or smell of driving in to the stand. The road is also used for gas/oil and timber traffic so there is movement on it quite a few times a day at all hours. I could probably use diesel to cover my normal scent...

Everybody walks to the stands on our place. The vehicles are parked at the cabin, and it takes anywhere from 5 minutes to 10 minutes to get to any of the blinds.

Every stand is different on our place. Some 1/2 mile walk and others 100 yards away. Most are 200 to 400 yards away. One is 50 yards away. Totally depends on the setup.

Some I can come in from the open country and pull close, some I park below a ridge where the deer can't see or hear me as well and some I can't really get close too because of the areas that I would have to drive through.

Most of my sets I park at least 300 yards away from. Mainly because you have your scent all over that truck or ATV.
To the OP: If you have decent roads most the time you might consider an off road bicycle. You can get something in the $200 range at Academy that would do a good job getting you back and forth unless it's really muddy.
