The alpha max 3500 by hoyt, or captain by bowtech?
Which one and why?

The one that fits YOU best. Both are great bows; for me, I'd go with the Alpha Max just because I love Hoyt bows. But that might not be the right one for you.

Me too. But if I had to pick it would be the bowtech.

Yall aren't telling me why, and that's what I want. For the people that don't like hoyt or bowtech, why?

Mathews is the smoothest, lightest, best fitting and easiest shooting bow on the planet...at least in my hands. Go try them out and see which YOU like best-don't let some goobs on the interweb decide for you...

Haven't shot the admiral yet, but the am 32 is awesome. Quiet and smooth, and super light at a little over three and a half pounds. Hopefully the admiral is just as sweet, but I'm thinking the 32 is going to be the winner. And personally, I don't care for Mathews.

Shot hoyt for years and was a great bow but bought a bowtech last year and is much quieter and faster.

I have had a Bear, Hoyt, Matthews, and Bowtech. I rate them in order as Hoyt and Bowtech first, Matthews barely before the Bear and almost tied for fourth. Now for my reasons. I am 6'01". I draw 70+ pounds. The matthews was way too short for me. I constantly torqued the bow no matter what I did. With the Matthews, I bought all the gimmics (torqueless grip, no-peep, etc). For me the Howt and Bowtech just worked. I didn't have to try to make it work. I had the Hoyt Rapter for about 8 years. I was always happy with it. I bought the Matthews Switchback XT because of all the hype. I had it for almost 2 years and was never happy with it. I decided to go back to what worked so I found the old specs of my Hoyt and looked at the bows that met those specs. From those I shot them and bought what felt right. I own the Bowtech 101st. It shoots exactly like my old hoyt. I feel like I can shoot it with my eyes closed.

So in the end. Buy what feels right and what you want or you will be buying a bow again in the near future.

Well, I've shot the 4 big names, and can say. that the PSE X-force is too heavy. The DXT has too fat of a grip and is to heavy. The Admiral has a jump when it falls back into the valley, and the AM32 was AWESOME. Unless Elite or the Alien changes my mind, I'm getting the Hoyt.
I also rated them in order. AS Hoyt, Bowtech, Mathews, and PSE.

depends on which X force you are shooting, my X Force 7 3 D rig is heavy, but my X Force SS hunting rig is super light. I have shot both the Alphamax 35 and the BowTech Admiral, and both were extremely nice drawing bows. Both held well and both seemed to be an improvement over last years models. I was actually quite impressed by the Alphamax, and I am not a fan of Hoyt by any means, so for me to say that it must be a great bow. Neither one of them will outpreform any of my PSE X Forces, so no need to buy another bow, but for someone wanting a new bow either will do a fine job. HOWEVER, I would go shoot a Elite GT 500.........they are super nice, and I am thinking about getting one to put in the rotation with the X Forces.

The X Force is made for fatter people. Hoyt is a great bow, I shot the Katera this past weekend I was impressed

Ignore anyone who thinks they can tell you what bow is best for you. Shoot as many different bows as you can and buy the one that you like best. "So which girl should I marry the blonde or the redhead?" Only you know what you like.

I picked up a number of bows to test in my price range, set them to the side on the range closed my eyes and had a spotter eyeball me hi/low to the target and felt the difference. The bow will pick you. Mine was a bowtech...

HOYT. I shoot a Hoyt Cybertec. I have been using this bow for about 5 years. This bow "fit" me. I am short, 28" draw, 70 pounds. I killed 2 hogs last week, within 15 minutes of each other. Both Hogs went down, dead, in less than 40 yards. I shot them both through the lungs. I have been shooting bows since I was 12. I am almost 51 now. I started with Fred Bear and Ben Pearson recurves. When the compounds came out, I bought a Browning, the first one they ever offered. I quickly went back to the recurves. The technology was not there yet. Mathews are good bows, but the price does not justify them. Kind of like comparing a Remingon 870 or 1100 to a Benelli. Give me the Remmie for 1/3 the price.

*** Pick a few bows based on the specifcations you are looking for, then shoot them all, and buy the one that fits you.

Well, for the Z-28 to be better than the AM 32, it's got a lot of work to do.
