Current sail date is March, hopefully not but more than likely that date will slip to the right (most of them do), and then probably 6-12 months offshore.

Yes she is. The Big Foot will be at 5,200 ft. Why are you shooting? Are you anti oil, or anti something else? I don't like it very much when someone is shooting at me or my brothers, hopefully it was a type-o. Standing by for clarification.

Just a hunter that spent 35 years in the oil field with Schlumberger pumping services. Worked in Dubai,Oman,Iran,Indonesia, and south China sea. Been on platform, jackup, drillship and semi's. Helped grout 3 500,000 bbl storage tanks offshore Dubai in 1972 built by Chicago bridge and iron which was a huge project. Not shooting at any one just deer and elk and no way anti oil, hoping it comes back strong, too many friends out of work and wish you the best on staying busy. up

up I apologize for taking you the wrong way Sir. These days it seems too many are hating on the ones that supply the resources that enable their and (our) own every day way of life. I was confused by the shooting emoji, thank you Sir for your post and again I apologize for thinking that you might be in "that group". cheers I've been in the industry for 21 yrs but you were pumping O&G out of the ground before I was born. up Much respect.

It's easy these days to feel beat up by the general public! I've said many times we live in a hydrocarbon driven economy but it normally falls on deaf ears! I started working as a roughneck in 1979 so i don't have the experience of bp3. The oil business is like many other industries in that it gets hammered by the media at times but it seems to be a favorite target for the uninformed. Elk

They made it to location. Am told they were out there about a month before they gave up and came back in. The current destroyed the tendons and some of them went to the bottom. It's been re-engineered and I hear they're gonna start ramping back up by the end of the year.

Thanks for the pictures skinner back, I have worked on the other end of your and bp3's labour since 1976. We take feedstock off of the oil/gas (Propane or Ethane) and get Ethylene to make into Polyethylene. If the general public knew all of the people and work that went into their trash bags, drinking cups, diapers and the list goes on they might have a better view of the oil business. Most just think it is gasoline.

The tendons are just big steel pipes, and they were all recovered so no harm to the environment but yes.....dropping, losing, or leaking anything into the water is a VERY big deal and we take it very seriously. If your hard hat blows off and hits the water or you drop a bucket, it's a big deal. It doesn't take much to get fined.

Wanted to add a couple closer-up pics of the Chevron Big Foot Platform, it's sitting behind my project in the pics I posted above. She's a toad grin , I wanted on that project bad and tried several times but Houston wouldn't release me from the job I was on at the time. The Big foot was supposed to be offshore long ago, but they ran into some serious issues with the current at that location so the whole thing is delayed and the platform has been in preservation mode with only a skeleton crew.

Hope you enjoy.

Cool pics, hard to appreciate the size until you're up close to one.

Just curious. My uncle sent me pics when that rig came down. He is working to get that old plant back up and viable again. Says he gets to boat in to work every day from the island and loves it. I'm slightly jealous.
