Norma MRP and IMR 4831. I have always used the COL that is stated for a particular cartridge so in this case it is 3.150".

4831 is a good powder to use. For the 140 VLD's, you will need to seat them out close to or touching the lands to get top accuracy. VLD's don't like a big jump to the lands. See if you can seat them out further, and accuracy should improve. Also, work at near max or max loads, and this will also help. If you are running reduced or mild loads with the slower 4831 powder, it doesn't make for a good combo.

I have a load with the 130 grain VLD using IMR 4831 that is very accurate. It is close to max. When I get another 6.5 I will definitely take your advice and experiment with seating length using 140 grain bullets.
