first hog bow kill was walking to the blind in the dark and stumbled on a sounder eating a dead cow.. waited till I had enough light and stuck a nice 60lb sow.

a large colony of earth worms, once they had their fill of that grub hunter they returned to their burrow. I saw the movie!

Yesterday on the way to my place I passed a dead hog on the side of the road, right by the pavement. I'd guess it was maybe 70 or 80 pounds. That was at about 10:00am. By 5:00 when I left, there was a flock of buzzards next to it, and had eaten almost all of it. I actually didn't see a hog at all....they had eaten so much of it that it was about level with the ground. There were a good dozen or two buzzards.

Other hogs had a feast, not that uncommon. With having been moved that far this is my guess.
Have also seen 2 70 to 80lb pigs consumed overnight by coyotes.
Buzzards may have had some food as well.
Nothing truly goes to waste. Usually the hogs around here eat the bones and all.

Sounds like a buzzard frenzy to me, natures disposals. Not very likely that coyotes and pigs did that, that fast in the middle of a field in the middle of the day +1
