I looked on mine and it doesn't say "White Powder" on mine, at least that I can tell. Yours must be really old if it needed to say that. I love old guns. Got any pics?

I used to hunt jackrabbits several times a week out on the east side of El Paso. I've probably killed more with a 10-22 than anything else, but quite a few were victims of a 788 in .222 Rem. Used a few other centerfires too.

I've been back there a few times in the last ten years and have not seen much to shoot at. It was like that in the late 50s and early 60s---hardly ever saw a jackrabbit at all, but numbers picked up in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I wonder when it will pick up again.

There WAS one particularly unlucky jack that fell victim to a .25-06...

I hunted our entire place (100 acres) for 2 hours Friday morning. Couldn't scare up a single rabbit, squirell, or pig.

I killed untold numbers in my youth with a Rossi 62. My favorite now is a Ruger 10/22.

You did what?

Remmy 552 bought way back in the late 60's. Nice thing is that I can shoot 22 short HPs out of it for those little rascals.
