If you like black strong coffee you'd probably like Starbucks just don't get all the frat boy stuff...just go get a cup of coffee. Also, if you want to broaden your horizons and step it up a notch get an Americano...expresso with hot water poured over. Now that is the best thing since coffee was invented No I never said I like strong, in fact I like it weak, I like several cups of weak vs 1 cup of strong. Folgers percolated coffee, it's what I drink. I want to get a campfire percolator, that's for next season. The key word is "weak"...any coffee as long as it is weak. Will never understand that. At work I go 1/4 coffee, 3/4 hot water. Trying to cut back on the caffeine, but a hunting thermos I make stronger.

Day 6 camping/hunting/duck bumming...was on 3 different lakes today, it's some slim pickings where I am. Beginning of week was good. Mohunter shot a banded pigtail today, congrats. Thanks Guy, been the second banded duck shot out of my boat this season. My dad shot the first one a few weeks ago, 75 years old and he gets his first band.

I been watching these mallards, they are not decoying. They like landing where there are no other ducks, that's their preference. To land with other ducks, they have to really want in there. Found a spot holding mallards this afternoon, it was sweet because I reved my motor 400 yards out to see if any lifted out of the spot and they did, about 40 to 50 lifted out, so I shut the motor off and watched them, strong wind blew me away from spot just what I wanted, watched them with my binoculars, and they settled right back into the spot, that is such a sweet sight, scouted this spot on Friday. Normally they lift out and don't come back. I'm hoping there are more in there, when I scouted it on Friday they continued to lift out the closer I got. I'm thinking about not even using decoys in the morning, seems weird not using deeks, just think they will hurt me not help, maybe put out a hen/drake pair 50 yards from the X? Just to make sure they do not land there, and I feel better about putting out some deeks??? Lol.
Good luck to everyone hunting on the last day. Last day of season seems so tranquil, after the hunt I find myself scouting, not sure why, and driving home I take the long way, windows down, radio off, just take if all in, reflect on season...
