If you apply as a party.....it's all or nothing, either everyone draws or no one draws. It's kind of overwhelming for the first time applying.

I remember the good ole days of NM. Now its frustrating. But I do understand the residents point on tag allocations. Not sure if this is still correct but in the old days the nr/outfitted hunts...when under subscribed (as many tags as I use to draw I'm thinking they once were) those tags went to the nr/diy pool. Is this still correct BOBO? But sense nr get fewer tags these days I'm betting nr/outfitted hunts are not under subscribed anymore.
But you can all ways go to Montana if Co or idaho are off the wish list( assuming you don't draw NM which you probably won't) . I went to big sky country last year for the first time and had a great time.

Today is the last day to enter the draw. Good Luck! Just put my application in.... 2 units in the Gila or bow and outside Ruidoso for rifle. If I don't draw there, I'll be headed to Colorado for an OTC tag.
They don't put the word "eat" in "meat" for nothin you hippie

Got mine in for archery mule deer and elk for the first time ever. Drew an archery mule deer tag last year and had the most amazing time chasing them through all kinds of terrain. Needless to say, I am now addicted.
