What's all this talk about weight? It doesn't weight 20 lbs. My rifle is set up as a precision gun, and weighs a good 10 lbs. with nothing on it. Who knows what it weighs with optics and accessories? We're grown men and walking around a deer lease. We aren't hiking the Frank Church from one end to the other. Agreed ^^^^^^^^^^^ My stock weighs in at about 30 ounces (with rifle tube included), so weight is a factor, but in my case….it helps to balance a heavy barrel and also reduces recoil. When my rifle is fully rigged for hog hunting (see below) it comes in at a hefty 13 lbs. (with ammo). Although I wouldn’t want to carry that around all day…..it doesn’t bother me for several hours of trekking around. I really like the stock; it is very rugged and very quiet. .458 SOCOM Oh my. That thing will certainly make a large hole.
