My stock weighs in at about 30 ounces (with rifle tube included), so weight is a factor, but in my case….it helps to balance a heavy barrel and also reduces recoil.

When my rifle is fully rigged for hog hunting (see below) it comes in at a hefty 13 lbs. (with ammo).

Although I wouldn’t want to carry that around all day…..it doesn’t bother me for several hours of trekking around. I really like the stock; it is very rugged and very quiet.
