Thank you, I am always very mindful of safe firearms handling. Many years ago I lived with my grandfather and my cousins lived right down the road. When time came for me to learn to shoot, he had us bring him a gallon jug of water, and watch real close. He shot it with his 357, and we all went up to inspect the damage. All he said was "Mind what you're doin, that could be your cousin's head." and proceeded to teach me how to shoot (yep, with that same 357, haha) I think it really stuck for me because of the presentation!

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Smart man right there....I cant wait for my little ones to get big enough to teach them how to shoot. I planned on the same thing, only with a water melon. People these days act like their kids are so fragile and protect them from everything. Of course I keep em safe but they need to get out and get some hands on, even a few bumps and bruises. Thats how I learned....

Anyway, funny you bring up the cleaning. I enjoy it as well, esp if with someone who hasnt done it. Really cool to pass on what little info I have about things...nice pig btw...

He's very old school and I think, like you, sometimes the old ways are the best ways. Agreed, everyone seems to want to put kids in a plastic bubble. Children who would be totally capable of more if they were trusted to do them (within reason and with supervision of course.) It's no wonder kids complain about microaggression and need safe spaces at school these days, and it's only gettin' worse. Good on you for wanting to do different with your little ones! (Sorry for the rant... as an adult who has returned to college and sees 17 and 18 year olds all day, I have quite the opinion on it..)

Thanks, I am pretty proud of that pig. I live in Bandera County too, I bet you've got about 1,000 that look just like her! laugh

Need to get that pig on the smoker. It looks like it hasn't even been used yet.

coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc. I don't give eeffoc until I have my morning coffee.
