Please note these above are the Match bullets not the Hunting bullet. Hornady is having trouble getting the hunting pills to the shelves.

Stupid question:
since the BC is truer, & staying true longer, couldn't you go w/a lighter bullet w/higher FPS to retain more FPS/ft. lbs down range?

If comparing an A-Max BC of say a 140 gr. 6.5mm to an ELD-X of lighter weight, but of equal BC, then yes you surmation is correct.
BC is the ability to maintain velocity.
The lighter bullet will start with more velocity.
The typical way of increasing both is with a longer bullet and more case capacity to make the long high BC bullet leave faster. The trade off for doing this is more recoil and shorter barrel life. My 7 Rem Mag is a prime example. G1 of .659, 180 gr, and an MV of 3040 fps. It recoils more than my 6.5 Creedmoor and the barrel will be done in ~1000 rounds. It was built to kill, not shoot 50-100 rounds in a session, but it sure is fun to have all that performance available.
