Seem pretty close to me. I got handed a 270 as a ten year old and didn't have a problem. The 6.5 is less, but it seems far from a night and day difference to me. To each their own. Similar weight bullets going similar speeds they are gonna have recoil in the same ball park. And the long action will weigh more.

Bear in mind that there are only four factors in recoil calculations: rifle weight, bullet weight, bullet velocity and propellant weight. At the end of the day, it comes down to only bullet weight, bullet velocity and propellant weight when comparing cartridges and not rifles.

If you hand load, either the .243 or the Bob. If you are not a hand loader there is a lot more available in factory ammo for a .243....

Recoil wise they are same-o same-o

I think you'll be fine with the 243. Take a good look at the Tikka T3.
