1. Not clear enough to see on my phone 2. 648 3. 486
I'm learning as well. Pretty tough to be exact viewing on my phone and work computer has this site blocked. Got on my laptop & figured out how to zoom in on the photo thru Photobucket. Let's see if it helped (doubt it!) 1) 215yds 2) 720yds 3) 560yds

3) 1058 yards? I'm probably too high. I think we need to use the dimensions of the feeder, just a hunch. Cool post, thanks for sharing.

As you zoom in on the image, it pixelates, but let's try to figure this out. My estimates: 1)181 Yards 2)532 Yards 3)309 Yards

And my FD bro did the best!
1) 190 yards 2) 740 yards 3) 538 yards
Sorry the pics weren't more clear. It's not easy holding a rifle steady as well as getting a camera lined up with the lenses. We have to know the size of the object to range it. Being that this is a 55 gal drum I figured everyone knew they were 3 feet tall.
Size of the target in yards X 1000 ------------------------------------------------------ = range to the target in yards mils in the reticle the target occupies
So 1 yard X 1000 ÷ mils = distance
Or the inch method
Size of the target in inches X 27.77 -------------------------------------------------------- = range to the target in yards mils in the reticle the target occupies
THANKS FOR PLAYING!

Dang! I was awfully close. I was figuring a standard 55 gallon drum at 34.5"
33.4X27.77 ---------------------- = 181 yards How many mils tall
But like you stated, the pictures were a little fuzzy and I wasn't able to determine exactly. It's tricky taking photos from a scope. I like this game, we should do it more often. Good thread Jason. It definitely perked some people up.

I figured it using the inch method w/the 55gal drum being 35".
That was fun! I told you a few years ago I'd NEVER be able to figure the MOA crap out but the MIL seems easier to me.

I thought it might. See, even when I'm on a mule deer hunt I'm still thinking of the THF I'll get some more pics of other things and do it again. All of you missed the special "object" 7 o'clock from the feeder in pic 3.

I saw it but couldn't tell if it was a muley or whitetail, buck or doe. As they can vary pretty drastically in size, I figured the drum was a better ranging 'object'.

Well absolutely the drum is a better object to range. I just couldn't believe no one commented on it!
It was a muley buck, a 3 X 3 (high magnification ability is pretty handy!) I saw him with the naked eye, lasered the drum, put the rifle scope on him, and quickly decided to let him walk. I stood there thinking "if he was a shooter, I'd have to take the shot, this is what I train for." After all that interlogue, I took the pic.

I noticed as well and like LFD, I couldn't better determine what it was. For me, it was easier to DOPE the feeder.

I guess 747 yards on pic 2, and it was 740. That's a hit!

They repetitively shoot, and kill, large animals at 700+yds. It's really impressive.

Looks like the "right" side to me. Jason - I was within 10 yards on #1 and # 3 I'll take a 2 out of 3.
