I have an AR15 for sale that I never got around to firing. Saw it on sale, looked cool, had a boatload of Cabelas points. Seemed like a good idea, but I have other .223's that will fill the same role. Months passed. Now, I decided we need a 4 wheeler and the rifle is for sale. There are as many reasons to sell as there are people and guns. The good thing about America is that people are free (within the firearms laws) to do what they wish even if it makes no sense to you or anyone else.

God is so good to me.

i only buy or swap for a gun i know i can get my money out of - love to swap and everything is for sale. sometimes i will find one i really like and hang on to it for awhile and i have my baseline of guns but most of them i will swap or sell. kind of like a hobby.

I once drank muddy water out of a hoof print and was dang glad to get it.

Some guns you just dont shoot well or dont fit right so they get sold or traded for something else.
Or you have to make room for the new addition and something has to go.because you dont have room for yet another safe(2 so far)

too many guns - too little time

Speaking only for me - I don't get to shoot as much as I should or would like too.

But I'm constantly buying stuff. Often in order to buy something, something else has to be sold. So the cycle never ends.

If I managed to keep every gun I ever owned - well lets just say 1) I'd be richer than all hell these days (the complete ORIGINAL US, German, and Japanese WW2 pistol and longun colletions alone would have put my kids through college) and 2) I'd need a way bigger house. But alas I was not rich enough to keep them all, and with the prices they are now don't think I'll ever even attempt to replace those collections.

yep...Have several that fit in that category... another thing... there's not too many things in this world that are considered "owned" that aren't up for sale if the price is right.

I've never sold a gun that I bought for myself. I had a cheap Ted Williams .22 that I never got back from the person who borrowed it (it was a piece of junk anyway). And I had one stolen during a break-in at my home. But then, I suspect I don't have as many as those who sell them often. And with the economy like it is, I hope I never find myself needing to sell one either.

I can also understand why you asked the question. Like others I'm sure, I get somewhat attached to my firearms. I guess it's just something in my blood.

i would agree, with dan, i get attached to my guns and dont really like to get rid of them, i see all of my gun purchases as a good investment. You can have the gun, and use it every now and then, and when you need money for some reason, baby, lost job, or if you want a new gun, then you can sell it for about what you bought it for.

I'll even go further and say that I feel my guns are a part of who I am. Don't get me wrong, it's not a power thing. To say that guns are in my blood is to say that they're a part of my family heritage. One of my most prized firearms is an old Remington .22 that belonged to my grandfather. I can only hope that all of my guns will stay in my family for as long as they last.
