agree with Sneaky, there will likely be very little use for a mat or sticks unless you find an easy way to carry ... but I suspect by day 2 you will be leaving a lot of stuff at camp ... and each of you going better have picked up the pace with your daily walking and any stairs you can find to go up and down!!!

LMAO, I work offshore on boats, all i do all day is climb stairs! We even up the dificulty level a few notches because everything is moving!!!

Thanks for the heads up on the mat and sticks. I do have a bipod on my rifle, but if it becomes to much hassle, it comes off easy enough. I hope I am not overthinking all of this, but I want to give myself the best oportunity I can.

I had a bipod on my rifle on my first hunt. Loved the thing. Never thought twice about it.

I took it off the second day.

Looks like everyone that claimed that they wanted to go with me has backed out. If anyone needs or wants to ride with me from Central Texas or somewhere along the way is more than welcome.

Jsims, we are planning to pull out of Georgetown sometime Thursday morning. Not sure when you were planning on leaving, but we could all convoy if interested.

I think we're planning on staying the whole season, so more than likely we'll head back Monday the 26th unless everyone has tagged out early on. Even then we still may stay until Monday morning. We already have the time off so might as well enjoy Co. while we can up

If everyone tags out early, I will get some beer from the Dolores River Brewery and we will have a party!

ZK, make sure in that free time, you procure a real estate listing guide, give your dad plenty of time to locate and buy a cabin, then we can all rent a room since some of us are old, or handicapped in some way grin

I'm not much of a drinker anymore either, but a cold one or two before bed after a long days hunt doesn't sound too shabby to me.

I promise that I will be drinking a few no matter what. Hangovers in deer camp never have worked well with me though.

At least bring some decent beer and whiskey. This is no time for that watered down junk.

One more reason Creekrunner needs to go. He knows quality.

My father would be aghast...and I'm quite honored by the compliment. Sad state of affairs.

And if I do "pitch up" after this other trip, if I'm guesstimating the expenses half-way close, I won't have a pot to piss in.

CR, there will be enough fellas there, you can borrow a "pot to piss in", or use a pine tree grin

I'm hoping you go just because you and the Mrs got good news and life goes on as normal..

I usually drink Bud Light but when I'm up there I usually drink a brew from the local brew pub.

Does Dad have one of them shower heads on a hose that you can take down and give the naughty bits a good spritzer?
