I haven't been out in month! All the rain here in central Texas, along with some family obligations, has been keeping me from hunting. However, I'm about to change that. My plans are to head out Tuesday afternoon. The landowner said he saw "50 hogs" on the property last week. Even if he's exaggerating a little, there seem to be plenty of hogs in the neighborhood lately. I'm hoping to knock down a few.
I have two unwritten rules: 1. 2.

Was out last week and did not see much..just a sow and 3 pigs. Son was watching a feeder and several came up including one of the biggest boars he had ever seen. He did not shoot him. I went to the same place next evening and morning and he was a no show. Few pigs on the trail camera for some reason but there still around. Maybe next time.

I have seen hoof prints in the mud, but NO pics or sightings of hogs in 6 weeks. I do not know where they are hiding or what they are doing, but I can't kill them if I can't see them!!

got corn feeder by creek hogs move up & down... Food plot & feeders been their for years.. This season 2014-2015 fery few hogs, maybe once a month... Even the WMA down road have been seeing fewer & fewer hogs over the years... Realize certain area's have more hogs than others, just like deer.. Hunting pressure plays a big roll... Any ways, best wishes.. Have enjoy many years hog hunten, it had been 1 deer county for years, didnt mind shoot hogs& letten deer numbers increase... Had pic's of 3 different bucks show up ta mineral blocks during summer last year...

I had a bunch on my place when the rain stopped but the poaching hog doggers came through 2 times in the last month. I walked the place yesterday and didn't see much sign of pigs but plenty of ATV tracks from the poachers.

Get pic's on cam of the neighbors dogs that great me at mail box all the time... They just want some attention.. Have ta pic up after em wt times if dont burn trash right away, the keep the hogs moving... Was doing a laser-tag hog hunt, sitting between the two feeders, heard something easing up on trail right under stand.. Find deer & hogs tracks on trail all time... Turned, it bout 4 dogs, couple have seen before, whistled, they looked up barked & were gone... In past, in-laws ran cattle, we took in stray dogs for kids.. kept em in yard.. Other eople moved in, dogs chase cattle, words spoken, ended up dog wars... Last dog had got loose, got shot... Its amazing just a whistle will send dogs running... Have had too many pets die in me arms.. Best wishes on poachers

Very few pigs on our place as well, compared to last month. Still see new tracks, rooting has all but stopped. Cameras not seeing much. Saw 1 pig last weekend moving quick through some brush a few hundred yards away, no shot. Saw a random dog on cam near feeder, appeared to be a hound of some sort. Feeder is pretty secluded and didnt look like any of the neighbors dogs. I wonder if we might have some poaching hog doggers as well....

Colt.45 we went up to Cass county this weekend have had pigs on cams but it seems like every time we go to hunt them nothing shows up. They'll be there all day everyday til we show up. Probably doesn't help that we get there a week or two after the feeder runs out of corn didn't have a varmint cage on the feeder either until this weekend

. Have always had good luck in past whin i huntsolo down at the WMA just down the road... Last few years its been tougher seing hogs also... They don't have night hog hunt's, & only 3 months of hog only, any legal meens... They do have the deer-hog archery, missed last few years of that cause of shoulders.. Squirrel-hog , am usualy their with my .45 kentucky, got two rifles, even put out invite, do tell em no garrentees... They do have rifle deer draw hunts, any hunts their can shoot hogs... Have feeders mineral blocks & food plot at house for deer... Taken lots of videos of hogs at WMA compaired ta privet land & the 24-7-365 hog hunts.. It was my ta go to place for taking a hog for en & chillen... Hogs had less pressure... This last season didn't get chance ta hunt WMA till last few weeks of March, hunted the last snow days, had blast, by then ya was stepen in water just about every step... Got tired of waiting on hogs between the two corn feeders.. Archery, have sat at edge of parts litterly torn up at WMA, most that done at night... Could here hogs, squeelen in distance, would get down & ease twards them, but shoulder, always had too much movement, & then it start poppen.. Can only turn down bow so much... Best wishes ta all, Hunter-Steve seen your post on Pintail hunt , just being in woods with family & good friends is a blast...

Hunter-Steve seen your post on Pintail hunt , just being in woods with family & good friends is a blast... Any day hunting is better than one working! We all had a good time. We ended the hunt with a big bang from a 2lb sonic boom exploding target. I'll be back out next weekend on a new prospect that I just got in Whiteright.

Android keeps messing up, make a post, & havta re-log back in.. Years ago at creek, for food plot, work ground up, throw oats.. Few days later would see deer tracks, this before got cam's, day two later see hog tracks... Ground broke up, easier for hogs ta root-up... Case-in-point, people suggesting post hole digger & bury corn... If hogs show up on cam pic's couple days in a row.. Will go throw corn by hand... Have been seeing on video's hogs hitting oat fields, & other crops.. Not sure if thats in your area... i've always had luck easing threw woods on WMA... Reason been on THF... Best wishes

my tago to place is WMA just down the road... It's closed except for hog archery, my shoulders are ka-put... Got few video's in the public hunting form ... Ya'll make some cool video's enjoy watchen whin have better internet... With the pressure from surrounding privete land & 24-7-365. Public land hog hunts can be awsome... Just a pain getting em out for en & chillen... Got two feeders & food plot with cheap cellular lights by creek by house tree stand in between set up for cheap canon video of laser-tag hunt... Been skunked, that waiting game is a pain in the astroid.... See a hog or two on cam bout once a month... They follow creek... Cam's are set up for day... Check around for tracks along creeks, have found few wallow's very little rooting up lately... Enjoy my hog hunts as am sure u do... Used ta hit woods at night with pistal & lights turned off.. Twas years ago... Best wishes & safe hunten

Tall grass can work ta your advantage... Few years back, son-in-law & i were easen threw tall grass at WMA... Found trail grass bent over, followed it ta a big hog bed, fresh sign all around, motioned for him ta easy my way.. We found another bed close bye, took some video & pic. We were lmited on time...

Skeeters keep carrying them off in the WMA! one of reasons hogs are found around wallows, mud bath's keep hogs cool, & helps keep tic's, flea's, chigger's, & skeeter's down... Hogs are clean animals... Have sat many hours, days apone days on archery only hunts... Get ya one of them thermal cells have heard they work great... As pappy once said: my mind says yes, my body tis what matters ... Best wishes... Edit: warmer weather hunt shaded areas, wallows, & hog rubs...

In the water, its hot!
Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.

We have so many pigs that we have had to set traps to get them. We have 29 already and are adding many more every weekend. It is tough to stay out till 2:00-3:00 in the morning to get them.

hogs are all over on my lease
i am in Eastland and I just spotted another sow with 10 piglets, probably new births last week as they're all tiny
this makes the 5th pack this year, I started to see new piglets dropping around march
right now they're coming out morning, noon, early afternoon and from 7:25pm - 5am
I feed 6 x a day to keep them coming
I am selective with what I shoot, I leave the sows with piglets alone
I shot 2 boars last month (lost both of them in thickets )
If you want them to keep coming keep the feeders going all times of day
