Looking at getting a Mule for next hunting season but I am having a hard time finding reviews about them wanted to see what yall have experienced with them, I hear they have hard times getting up hills but then I hear that’s user error so not sure what to believe, just hoping yall could help me out with pros and cons on them

I have a 2007 3010 Trans Mule, its a tank. Its not very fast but fast enough for my smaller property. Havent had any trouble with it. Best advice i could give is add a lift and some 26in tires,i was shocked at how much better it handled with taller, narrower tires up front. I had it loaded with 8 bags of corn and about 8 post last weekend going through water and mud coming over my floorboards and it chugged right along. Good machine in my opinion. Best thing i did was get rid of the 4 wheelers, and the mule is actually alot quieter Than my atv was.

I have a 2013 610xc and yes its not very fast but I think a great value for your money I had one rented on a job in Utah and the Rhino's would blow by me going up the side of the mountain but the mule will climb very steep grades just slow

I recently purchased a 2012 4010 diesel ad couldn't be happier. I haven't had it in the mud but it climbs hills great. Not going to beat the others in a foot race but I'm not planning in on racing it.

The new mules are redesigned and new suspension really give it a great ride than in the past. Go test drive them and make up your mind on what you want. I have a Ploaris Ranger 800 and would never go back to a mule but that is just my opinion. Go test drive them and see what you think.
Shhhhhhhh better to be quiet than remove all doubt..

I spent a lot of time on the net reading about both Rangers and Mules. In general both are supposed to be good machines and Ranger = Play & Work (Smoother, faster, more plastic), Mule = Work (Slower, not as smooth, more steel, dependable). I ended up with Mule 610 XC which is taller then the regular 610 and comes with way better tires. I don't have to add a lift to it. Most people who have driven a mule tried out the older stock tire versions that were low to the ground is what I found.

Fast-no. The machine is just very reliable. The next problem I have with it will be my first. Hills have never been a problem for me in 4x4 and posi-trac. The rig will pull the "h" off of hell.

I also have a 2007 Trans Mule. No problems with it but I don't take it mudding or anything but I do go places my 4x4 truck couldn't go. Preferred the Mule over faster UTV's for my kids safety. I know they all have their level of danger but the faster they go the greater the chance of something happening. It works for me and my family. I have loaded it down pretty good. I also lifted and put taller better tires on it, it's much better that the stock height and wheels.

2011 Transmule with a 2 inch lift and aftermarket larger tires and it has plenty of clearance and does well in black mud..Its goverened at 25mph...I always tell people...Its plenty fast.I lease 1500 acres and we have a camp on one side..I can get to the other side in 8 minutes....Jump out at 25 and see how it works out.LOL..I priced them in 3 states and no one came close to Kawasaki Irving price.Actually i got the 2 in lift, soft top and brush guard for the same price of just buying the mule at other places.....I did ride in the newer ones and they are unbelievably smoother...

The new Mule Pro FTX is a game-changer. I spent this weekend cruising around an 8,500 acre ranch outside of Uvalde on one this weekend. Parts of it were rough country. Unlike the old Mules, this thing has lots of power and much-improved suspension. It rides great, and is very well thought out.
I'll sum it up like this: There was an 800 Ranger Crew out there as well, and everybody wanted to be on the new Mule Pro FTX. Totally different machine.

I have a 2007 3010 Trans Mule. It's a work horse! The one word I constantly use to describe it is "handy" I use it each time I'm at the ranch. Feed cattle, move people, and equipment. 4x4 works great in the mud and hauling 4 hunters to the blinds.
I have no complaints. Straight stock.
I will say I don't know how we ever got along without one. The pickup stays parked at the ranch house and the mule does the rest.

we have two at the ranch, one trans mule 3010 and the reg. cab 3010.
dead nuts reliable, built like tanks. slow as molasses. for ranch work I would own nothing else. we service ours rarely aside from basic oil changes once a year or every other year and they keep on ticking.
Polaris have a much smoother ride and are much faster and more off road capable. they also are prone to more repair.
to putt around at the farm/ranch and drive to and from the blind, a mule is perfect.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

for what it is worth check out the Kubota 1100 - if you plan on a cab with a Mule or Ranger then cost wise the Kubota compares favorable plus their cabs are off the charts better than anything Polaris or the Mule has. AC/heater/defrost/wipers/etc. and dust proof. They also came out with independent suspensions so the ride is awesome.
You can't fix stupid

Ours has held up great, it gets a fair amount of abuse at the ranch and we have hade very few issues. Only complaint is how slow it is.

I've driven a Mule for several years on the farm. It is a tank. Very dependable.
If you want fast go Polaris but the Mule is solid.

On the ATV thread, I mentioned that my rancher neighbor had killed his Polaris ATV. He has not yet been able to kill his Kawasaki Mule. That is truly one raggedy-a__ machine, but it just keeps on running. It's old and it's ugly. I know for a fact that he does no maintenance at all. And still...it runs...

My uncle has put 20,000 ranch miles on a ranger crew without major repair. All the guys I run with have polaris Rangers and rzr's. No idea what the new mules are capable of but they had to do something. The places we work, hunt and ride there would be no way to stay with the rest of us just cruising on Rangers in a mule, too rough to go fast and not enough power to go fast when roads are smooth.

Used a friends Mule this past weekend at the ranch and it was solid. Not fast, but built like a tank from my view.

I had the old Mule Trans and it was great for working and putting around. Just bought the new mule pro right before deer season last year. This thing is a beast! Can still pull a house down, but now it has 4 wheel independant suspention & will run 45 mph.
Great ride!
