Of the different animals that I have on my land, I would say the one that gets me the most interested is a coyote.

150+

Around here in South Arkansas a 120 will get you excited and make you think about shooting. 130+ is what really starts to screw me up.
I will say this, after a weekend at Bear Creek my sense of "big" may be forever skewed. Nothing like watching 180's and 190's and the guide saying "hopefully we will see a big one before you have to leave"
I was like "WHAT?" Good times.
Back to reality this year and I'm hoping to wrap a tag around a 130 or better.....

I like killing. But as far as a buck I'm really needing a 135+" buck with my bow. I don't know why. After that it will be a 140, then a 150. . . .

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

I don't really get that fired up over deer anymore. I did plenty of guiding when I was a youngster and killed some great ones. (Culled too many on large acerage.)

Last year I let 2 kids that were friends with the landowners son kill nice bucks. I enjoyed watching them kill them more than if I had shot them. I still got the meat and the look on the boys faces was much better than killing them myself.

Unlike most of the quail hunters On the forum I still like watching good dog work but still love killing a mess of those tasty critters. A good dove hunt also fires me up. I duck hunted while living in East Texas and enjoyed that as well. Much more than killing a big buck.

I've got some great racks sitting on the rafters in my barn. The only mount in my house is a 160 mule deer horn mount I killed when I was 14. I mounted it myself. It reminds me of my junior high principle that killed a nice deer the same weekend. I helped him drag his buck out of a deep canyon near Fort Stockton. We split a 6 pack at the truck when we got him out of there. It was the first beer I ever drank.

My best is a 130, they all get me going once my finger comes in contact with the trigger and I debate while looking through the scope. Not a lot of really big deer on my lease antler wise that is.

I used to be mad at them but now I would rather shoot does and culls. My wife likes to hunt so my trophy hunting days are pretty much over now. It would take a 170+ on low fence to get my blood pumping, everything else is like cattle to me. Feed them, grow them, shoot them. I get much more excitement out of seeing a client or a youngster kill their first deer.

I still hunt because I enjoy it and nowdays pick a particular buck to hunt. Any mature buck that is good for the area I am hunting gets me excited still today. I shoot what I like and don't worry about the score.

At this time in my life I'm excited about any deer that shows up. I enjoy seeing and hearing about success and failures of other hunters. I could care less about scores or age. At my age I'm more concerned if I will make it to another season. I got about 5 months to go and cant wait. Good luck to everybody this season hope all works out for us.

I lucked out and got a 146" 8 two years ago, so for me it would have to be a bigger 8 (highly unlikely) or a comperable 10. They all get me excited though, even does and spikes.

There is no "size" deer that I really get worked up over, it's usually a situation. On one place I hunt we only cull does and I see 150s all the time but it don't do anything for me I'm not hunting them, if I have walked 8 miles up and down a mountain and am on my fourth day and see a forky mule deer he will likely get me going because I'm hunting him. Anytime I draw my bow I get a little burst of adrenalin no matter the critter, I love shooting arrows at anything anytime.
