I didnt read that whole thing, but I'm curious...

few years back we were in rockport running the bays, and IT hit me like a ton of bricks. I ended up having to squat over the side of the boat to "make mud" if you will. Now were hunting in the middle of open water and getting to land to do my duty was not an option.

did I break the law?

not sure if it matters or not, but we were in that area where the grass is protected and you cant hit it with your prop...just so you know the whole situation

As stated earlier, if the doodoo police run me down and write me a ticket then I will pay the citation with a smile. First off they have to witness a crime. Soooo with that being said who has it worse,me or them?

Here is the law. There are places it be legal to discharge "Sewage" and places that are not. So merely possessin a toilet seat on a boat with a ramp is not a violation of law. I didn't wade through this whole chapter of law because it matters not. We on my boat would not being doing any different than a duck hunter who gets an urge when hunting(Get it? Dooing) ahhaaaa I kill me sometimes.
§321.3. Discharge Prohibited.
(a) The discharge of sewage which has not been treated in accordance with federal standards
specified in 40 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 140 is prohibited into any surface water in
the state.
(b) No person may discharge sewage, treated or untreated, from a boat into:
(1) any inland freshwater lake, freshwater reservoir, or other freshwater
impoundment whose inlets or outlets are as such to prevent the entry or exit of vessel traffic;
(2) any river not capable of navigation by interstate vessel traffic; or
(3) Clear Lake or any other state designated and federally recognized no discharge
zone.
(c) With the exception of those waterbodies identified in subsection (b) of this section, a
person may discharge sewage that has been treated in accordance with federal standards specified in
40 CFR Part 140 from a boat into the following areas:
(1) coastal waters that begin from any shore of the state moving seaward to a point
three nautical miles into the Gulf of Mexico; and
(2) any river that is accessible from the Gulf of Mexico starting from the mouth of the
river moving inland up to the point where navigation by the boat is no longer capable.
Adopted October 15, 2010 Effective November 11, 2010

bananaI have been waiting for a duck to come by all day long and here you are. When you go and correct someone about intelligence, you might want to check yourself!! 'Their' in the way you used it should have been 'there', at least that is I think what you meant to write. No hard feeling, I am just glad I have somebody to poke a stick at every now and again. happy3

Just give notice as to your location before entering waterway, I do not want to be 100 miles near that body of water in my waders...

I have it on good authority that running a boat/barge/blind in public waters with a flushing crapper can possibly get you one hell of a fine. Like in the thousands. There's an unclaimed blind sitting in a county lot in west texas that can attest to that

Why don't you just add a bucket and a box of trash bags? Tie the bag in a knot and leave it in the can, add a fresh bag and good to go.
