East of Rocksprings on 41.

Armando Morales III is the outfitter. 210-387-4044.

Anyone do a hunt with him? Ad says $150.00 for a 3 day hunt which includes lodging. Doe OR BUCK!! seems too good to be real. 210 387 4044

I would be extremely hesitant. Probably very unlikely to be successful on a hunt like that. That is how prices stay so low. An outfitter can afford but one in every 20 hunters to take a buck at prices like that.

Is this high fence or free range? Is it in Edwards or Real County? There are a lot of mini-ranchettes along there and then there are places like Forester Exotics and Thompson Temple. Go far enough east and you go by the YO ranch and WR ranch. If high fence you may have a chance; free range is possile but very uncertain.

I had a friend go on a deal like this, I don't know who it was with, down in that same area and it was 150.00 a day and on a small place. it cost him $450.00 to go out and watch a feeder.

If I remember right he did not see anything but the other person with him got a doe, so it was a luck of the draw kinda thing.

I would not expect very much game at that price point. You can try it out and see what happens, but I would go in with low expectations. Look on the bright side, at least you are out hunting

I talked to Mando. They have a 25% success rate but their Axis numbers are higher now than he's ever seen them, he said. They have a 25, 30 and 40 acre tracts close together. It is what it is I guess. For $150 it may be worth a look.

Places like that have hunters coming in like clock work, they (animals ) get used to to having the hunters always coming in and getting shot at they move out of that area

Come back and let us know how you did and where if you go. I'm curious about where the hunts are taking place.

1riot1ranger, he said his tracts are low fence, 20 minutes (doing the speed limit) east of Rock Springs on 41. He's completely booked for February. I guess somebody likes the time share.

I know quite a few that bought them then realized they screwed up. But you never know until you try. Go for it. I am sure there are many that would like to know how it is. Good luck.

I'm inclined to take your word Mr. Koenig. I prefer to pay more money for better odds.

On Texas Exotic Hunting Reloaded's Facebook page, an individual named Cade posted about a guy named Mando with a San Antonio phone number that stole photos of Cade's axis off of Facebook and Mando is using the photos to sell hunts. Sounds as if it maybe the same guy.

I went on Armando's hunt for $150 a few months back. There were hogs there in the middle of every night, but we never saw an axis. The axis picture is by a fence is on a neighboring property. He's a nice guy and the cabin was nice. There are a bunch of "small" places all around there.

This sounds about right for $150 axis hunt. I would look elsewhere

That's what I was expecting too. Across 41 it is almost either small places or high fences. Axis move all the time across those small places and if they are getting shot at regularly they probably aren't coming back; at least in the daytime.

I have been on Aramndo's place for about 5 times now. Saw 1 WT buck and a really small axis does only once. Honestly I Have seen more axis on highway 41 and 377 than any other place.

Its about 30-45 acre land 5 blinds with low fence and with large neighbors, as someone mentioned it probably has hunters like clockwork and. I dont know how much it affects axis movement but I saw a few axis carcass decomposing by the cabin. I just go there for escape and dont expect much.
