RWH, that's a matter of opinion, you left out lots of calibers....try finding a .257 Roberts in a No. 1 or even a .308. Ruger always has had a history of discontinuing firearms in model and caliber.

The rarity stuff posted above is a little misleading as it applies to the early non-prefix rifles (the one pictured doesn' look to be one of these). All those calibers listed are easy to find these days, depending on what version you're after. Even the .257 Roberts and the .308 (there's lots of new .257 RSIs out there that nobody wants due to the very plain wood)

I copied and pasted what was relevant to the discussion. The 7mm Express/380 Remington

Clarkfork is dead on.
The pre-prefix info RWH24 cited isn't relevant to anything in the last 30 years, pretty much. I can locate enough 375s and 458s with little effort.
"Reasonable price" is very subjective.
I've never known anyone who's owned a bunch of these to say any version of them are known for their accuracy. Google "Ruger #1 accuracy" when you have a spare day or two. One of the prettiest #1s I ever owned was a 243 1-B made in 1975. It would string any load you put through it vertically over 6". Fixed it by taking off the forend and installing a crush washer between the forend screw and the hanger block.
Jhenderson if you get it and don't want to keep it, pm me.

I can name you thee bench shooters that will disagree, as I, after 1974 some would shoot, some would not, that changed late 80's, bought & sold the ones that would not shoot for chit, the four that I sold a few wks ago were all 1968 models & would shoot 1" groups

You are correct, No 1 can shoot very precise groups

I have a Ruger No. 1 in .22 PPC, heavy barrel

in 2000 I shot a 0" inch group (that's 5 shots in 1 bullet hole )
with my own reload: Norma brass, br primer, and Hornady VMAX

I retired that rifle, it is now a conversation piece and wall hanger

Ended up not being worth it so I passed on it. Pictures looked good rifle had several flaws. Thankfully it wasn't any more than some time and gas wasted.
