Y'all think this will work to keep hogs out? It's only 34in tall.

Not really to light gauge. If you have cattle they will bust through. Maybe if the T post was closer like 3' apart.

No cattle on the place and was planning on using a good amount of t post. May try to use panels on one and this on one. Hopefully it's not a waste of time.

I have seen pens made out of in South Texas that worked very well. Just they were made very well. Square pens that had a T-post every 5' with a barbwire on top and bottom of the 36" welded wire. Never had any issues with hogs and I trapped 360+ hogs off that ranch in 3 yrs. Just make the pen large enough to keep all the corn inside the pen and construct the pen with very tight wire. Brace your corners T-post well and it will work fine.

My lease mates and I have given up on pens all together. Fortunately, we don't have hogs...yet. We use ground hugger feeders fixed securely to the ground with rods and t-posts and haven't had any trouble with cattle. Lots of game cam photos of the cows stopping by for a visit but no damage done.

What happend to the other 1/4 of the deer worthless

We put that around one of our pins last year and it didn't take a month before the hog tore it down. They split it in multi pieces.

WTR, you looked to have made it higher than 34" which I think should work in your favor. Think it should work; how far did you put those t-posts apart, 6'?

Looks small if you have a large amount of deer IMO. Another issue will be with hogs being able to get up against the fence with corn getting outside the pen. The hogs will cause the wire to get loose if it is not really tight after a while. I do hope it works for you.

Yea this one is closer to 4 ft tall we may need to cut it down. Think I'll wait a month see how this one works before I build the other one. We did rap some barbed wire around the bottom and was planning on rapping the top and bottom on the other since it will be much shorter. They're both 100ft long hope that is big enough.

Just an aside here, panels or wire, sooner or later you are gonna get a deer hung up in it.

We have a hunter who has a pen made of this wire and it has been up over a year. I think the fence is too high. Our hunter has more t-post than yours I think...he picked up a lighter post at Home depot and used more of them.

I would cut down to about 38-40" or so. So if 100' length, probably in the 30'- 35' diameter range or so would be my guess..I'd think that's enough, not huge by pen standards but should be enough to get 5 deer or so in at one time.

I never used pens/fences around my feeders, and I run cattle on my place, until I started feeding protein free choice. I use four 16' cattle panels in a square, cut down to 32" inches, t-post in each corner, and center. Deer have no issue coming and going, hogs have not gotten into any of them yet. VERY IMPORTANT note: make sure panels are flush with the ground all of the way around, and it is not overly soft earth.

Thank you...thank you very much

34" hog panels in a 50' diameter circle usually works well.....the outward bow in the hog panel in a circle configuration puts a little tension on the panel so the hogs aren't tempted to lean/dig under it like a straight panel with no tension on it.
