I have actually witnesses another doe trying to cover up a dead one before. Awful wide and deep gouges in the ground for a the size of paw print and nothing eaten off of the doe.

Hunted on the Brazil down there as a kid and the back section that bordered the Longoria and another place that was real thick was covered up with cats supposedly. Shot a buck that had his hind quarters all tore up. And that is a heck of a buck. That dark horn and rack characteristic was prominent on that ranch. Man I miss that place. Good times.

Agree, they hide their kill by burying it so they can come back later for more.

Great buck man cheers

That's exactly how my dad found several of his goats when a mtn lion made his monthly trip through his property in Cisco.

All the places we hunted in Mexico had cats. Coahuila seemed to have more but it was the one south east of Nuevo Laredo that had the baddest cat I have ever seen. We all tried hunting this one. He came into the pens one night and grabbed a mouflon ram and jumped over the dipping tank with it. That is when we drove up. Heard a sound that made are skin crawl. No doubt what it was but since we were just getting in from Texas we had no guns with us. Shined the flash light and he was gone up and over. Rancher brought in a Kickapoo tracker/trapper. I helped him set a few traps and just watched him since I didn't understand him. However the mission was clear. Came back the next morning and one of the traps we put in a cactus flat looked like a shredder made a huge crop circle. Except this one was made with a length of chain and a spike connected to a foot trap. This cut swung it around cutting cactus down until he freed his paw. Blood everywhere and the trapper said two words I understand. "Gato and Diablo". Then he drove and packed up his family and left. That cat survived and was spotted a couple of weeks later with a slight limp.

Know exactly where that is, used to be a nice fishing camp and boat ramp there back in the 80's, early 90's. Wouldn't stay there now if you paid me.

My boss in granbury tx found a young buck covered up just like that last month on his property. I'd say my lion too.
