Got to camp this evening and got the smoker going! Turkey, pronghorn backstrap, and some sausage! Just got my kiddo to sleep.
I will be up every couple hours to stoke the fire then head to stand around 5:30am. First time to hunt the Woodson place this year. First time in 10 years I didn't have a camera up either so we shall see what I see.
Live to hunt, forced to work!

I kinda like hunting where I don't know whats roaming the area. At the same time I love to look at game cam pics. LOL.

Well first time this year sitting in the mansion. Temp outside reads 25* nice and chilly. Ready to see what pops out. Slight breeze out of the north. Note to self brush hog spring food plot! It is 6' tall

Had a doe being pushed by a 3.5 year old 8 that was ok. Now a young 6 at feeder

Good to hear you out in our neck of the woods. Been a slow to start to rifle season over by Murray but heard they're moving better since last Sunday. Good luck coming out tomorrow but looks like the temps and wind are on the rise

I will be back in the stand tomorrow and Saturday. Hopefully Godzilla will come thru checking for a doe.
Looking for 3 bucks-really big 8 (low 150") main frame 10 with split g2s and g3s or a main frame ten with kickers everywhere last year he had 16 scoreable points.

We also hunt the Woodson area. Been seeing a lot of little bucks. Lots of doe. Have a couple of nice 8's around. Not seeing as many hogs. Last Saturday we got 3/4" of rain. About 1/2" fell in 15 minutes. Sure hope the drought breaks soon. Headed out there tomorrow for the weekend. Should get in an evening hunt. We quit using cameras 4-5 years ago. I like it better too. I'm in Jones co. Had 2 little spikes come in about 7:00 and posture up to each other. Other than that it's been kinda slow.
