Red, if not mistaken your VG has a 10" twist, like many other mfg. Regardless, a 10" is standard, and typically the slowest twist, and loves the 95 Ballistic tips, had a 6BR 10 twist, shot 1/2" at 200 yds with them. An 8 twist in another rifle shot the same.
I will vow that a T3 will run right next to a VG out the box, and perhaps outshoot it, easily, with all bullets thru 100 gr. Yes my vanguard has a 10-twist, but its a 300 wby. My 243 is a savage and has a 9.25 twist. Not a big difference, but I read that some of the 10 twists wouldn't stabilize a 100 grain bullet and that would have been a deal breaker for me. If Tikka ever comes out with a 1:9.25 or better twist T3 in .243 Win., I'm getting one and setting it up like the other two I have.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

Sure I guess the tikas shoot good... but I cant really think of many that don't when using good ammo scope and hardware. I don't like the feel of the tikas cheap plastic was my impression.

Sir you are mistaken. The 10 is standard and shoots 55-100s all day long and the 105 Speer The 105 and higher VLD is what needs a faster twist. Have Faith a 10 twist 243 and quality 95-100 gr bullet Are deer deadly to over 500 yds w shot placement. Proven many times.

I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

I bought the Vanguard S2 in 243 for my daughter. Nice gun, but not very happy with shot concistancy after three rounds. IMHO barrel profile is too thin. Makes it hard for her to practice at the range.
For my next purchase I'm planning to switch back to Savage (but avoid the Axis junk).
