IMO your situation pales in comparison to what I am experiencing right now. I've been in my stand since 4:15. Some [censored] clown about 1/2 mile up the way has shot some larger caliber pistol 71 times since I've been here. 10 rounds and reload. Make that 77. Where do you hunt? I had the exact same thing happen this evening. At about 4:45 some yahoo started up. I quit counting at 45 rounds. I had been in the stand since 11:30. I hear this action every time out. I think it makes the deer feel at home. One time it had been 15 mins or so since I had heard gunshots so I took out the glock and emptied a mag. You would have thought the feeder had just went off. Worked better than vanilla extract even!

I agree with you and it would annoy me too. I make it a point to be in my stand 1.5 hours before sunrise. Having said that I agree with others that if the deer are used to something they don't seem to get bothered. For example we didn't get to our land until about 10:00 the night before the season opened. After unloading the truck my wife and I were sitting on the porch. She was eating a sandwitch, I was smoking a cigar, and we were both talking in normal conversational voices with the dogs at our feet. There was a deer standing on the septic tank that she didn't notice, I never saw it because I'm blind, until our 2 Great Pyrenees took off chasing it. Through out the year we are out there every couple of weeks so the deer are used to us and the dogs and will regularly come around the cabin.
