Unfortunately I didn't end up going. I sat down last night to buy licenses and realized the 75$ five day license isn't good for quail (which is ridiculous by the way).
I was still down to go since I would hunt more this year but my buddy bailed because he didn't want to spend 146$ for one day. We got hit for $176 for the fiscal year license because we plan on going again in January. Since I'm a TX lifetime holder it was especially painful.

Wow, I didn't realize they changed it. The 5 day used to be good for quail too.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

Wow, I didn't realize they changed it. The 5 day used to be good for quail too. Me neither, I don't understand their reasoning behind this move.
