I'm using a crossbow on hogs this year. At least on the first one anyway. $10 for a broad head and $5 for the arrow make ammo look cheap!!!!  Crossbows are addictive and fun to shoot. I still haven't killed a deer with mine, could have plenty of times but passed them all waiting on the hoss to show. Do love popping pigs though....lots of fun.  Taking my son to layout piggies and hopefully a deer with either the xbow or his Compound this weekend.

My $199 Mossberg thinks you guys have too much money. This 460 pounder died to some high brass 6 shot to the ear.....only took 4 shots at 20 feet and 1 pressed to his eardrum.

I have caught a lot of flack over that pig. Especially the 2nd place in the big pig contest that lost by 120 lbs. I was walking down a narrow 4 wheeler trail and he he was coming the other way. I'm willing to bet that nobody on this forum would have walked up and pet the pig. He had been feral long enough for his skull to change shape. That's the first pig I ever shot.

For longer range or sitting still I use my 308, but for stalking I use my SBR 5.56.

STI competition 5.56 with the pulsar N550, and the Springfield M1A with the eotech and clip on thermal. I got a few other killers but I'm gonna try the semi's this winter

Like Txkiller, I'm going semi-auto this yr... so I'll probably take my 6.5 Grendel more than anything else. But in the past I've used these: 6.5 Grendel  DD MK18 5.56 - Now has a 3-9 Zeiss on it. (waiting for my form 1 paperwork to come back to SBR it)  In the past, my Rem700 AAC-SD 308 usually gets all the work  But my all time favorite way to drop hogs is still with a bow
