A monarch buck. If it is LF that's a really cool buck from Mother Nature. I'm sure we'll learn the true story soon enough...

I seriously doubt it was low fence. I seriously, seriously doubt two B&C bucks came from the same LF ranch in successive years.
(I would have withheld those comments if the deer were actually posted or directly known by someone on here.......) Oklahoma will make you look stupid if your not careful... Redcoats. I know a ranch that's done that 4 out of 5 years..... I use to own it I've heard of one on the Texas side that's pretty consistent with booners too.
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

I know there are some good WT and muiles on the OK side some really good ones but I don't think this one is a a native deer No way of really knowing we have had two break 200 both NT. Pretty much all Kansas genetics, toss in the cultivation of alfalfa and soy beans and you get huge deer with huge body weights. All of deer that have qualified book pushed or broke 40" mass mark.

It could be low fence. It just has the look of a high fence deer. It's pretty easy to see why someone would be skeptical, in this case.

Here is my on why I think that deer was a HF deer. He still has velvet on his antlers and you don't see that very often at this time of the year on deer even in South Texas (where they starting shedding velvet later than all areas in Texas or Oklahoma). When you do it see more often on a Texas deer he will be one that was released from pens to a HF. If it happens on ranch born deer then he will usually be very young, very old or have been sick buck. There are also a lot of deer breeders in Oklahoma. Just my thoughts and I could be as wrong as anyone else on here about that deer. Like I said before he is a great deer.

Looking to just left of her face, I believe there is a good size looking fence (wire shines in the light) Still a nice deer and who knows what side of the fence (if one)?

The entire photo (including the subject) has all the hallmarks of a fancy HF "pay to play" place.

Other than the example BOBO posted... Here's another way you produce "booners" consistently: You just raise improved genetics in a high fence pen on your own place, switch a "booner" buck to an adjacent soft release pen in July. In Sept. open the gate of the soft release and keep the protein in the feeder. That deer that was raised in that penned area will go to the protein and usually bed down in that SR pen near his buddies in the brood pen every night, and it will go to corn feeders out the gate and in the low fenced portion of the ranch in the morning and evening. So, you meet the ignorant requirements of B&C. And you have a deer that isn't going anywhere as long as you have enough low fenced acres to keep him from getting shot by other hunters before the rut kicks off. So simple an Okie could do it.

Never said it was not possible just to many things point to that deer being introduced genetics. And I will throw this in the pot.... who said that deer is even dead?

Biggest indicator to me is the pasty white antler at the bases where the velvet is gone. Typically even northern deer pasture raised have darker antlers early in the year. It's a great high fenced pure bred stud.

The people who denigrate the deer based on the fence it's behind? Yes, those are the DD's. The deer's awesome. Regardless of his heritage or bedroom.
