I like to light some lavender candles and take a bubble bath in lavender before I go hunting... I do some meditating in my truck before I get out and the lavender puts them right at ease. I even seen a doe giving a buck a massage one time after I lit lavender candles around my feeder bahaha roflmao

You mean no one on here has heard of VK, (Vanilla Killa). Was marketed and sold by Dan Fitzgerald. he used it in all his bowhunting videos. I guess this is a younger crowd on here, it was a few years ago that I used to see the stuff advertised, maybe 20 years ago. Vanilla Killa!!!

30+ years ago I remember a cover scent called Cover Up that smelled a lot like Vanilla extract without the alcohol. Haven't seen it in years but I killed several deer that came in from down wind using that product. Fast forward to a "new" product I was talked into trying this year called Nose Jammer, smells like Vanilla, have been hunting the wind of course but have had 2 mature does cross straight down wind of me this year that I watched and there was no reaction that I was there. Both times hunting from a natural ground blind and the does were within 40 yards and I expected to be busted but wasn't.

I tested this Vanilla extract behind my house couple days ago. Usually deer hang out at woodbine today I had two does and 4 fawns 20 yes behind the house. Not sure if its the vanilla but this is first time in 7 yrs I've seen them in the open like that with no worries.

Had a buddy use it with good luck bringing deer in. He put the extract in a Tinks Scent Bomb canister often used for estrus urine. FWIW.

I was late getting my feeder and stand out here behind the house this year. After reading all of GarGuys post on TBH about it, I figured I would give it a shot with no deer coming in on a regular basis. After 3 days of it being sprayed on hand thrown corn, I had doe starting to show up. I shot my first bowkill doe last Thursday afternoon. So it definitely brought the does in...and where here are does, there will eventually be bucks, correct? That's my view anyways grin so I'll continue to spray hand corn with it and see how it works for me up now at the lease in Polk Co, I'm just relying on the feeder...I can't make it out there often enough to throw hand corn on a regular basis...but if opening weekend is slow, I may give it a shot the next week

Laugh if you want, but it DOES work! In the past, I used Acorn Rage, Buck Candy, etc. Never could see a difference except a thinner wallet. This year, I started reading all the talk about vanilla and started using it in my feeders. It is all I will use now and will also be using it as some others suggested as a cover sent. This is the first time I have ever had bucks jump my feeder pen fence to eat corn. I have a Covert cam up and they are hitting the feeder hard every day.

I was 16 years old, that was 21 years ago, my uncle took me out to kill a doe, back then you only got the one and I never had killed one. When we got to the spot he handed me a bag of corn with vanilla in it and said just scatter this out in front of that stand when you get there. There was no feeder just a stand on a field edge. Sure enough about dark three doe come out and made a bee line for the vanilla corn and I shot one with his .284. My grandpa also used it when we fished all night on the river as a repellent for gnats. He said the mosquito spray wouldnt keep away what he called buffalo gnats, I don't even know if that's a thing but PawPaw said it so

Wow, im gonna have to give this a try this weekend since the deer don't seem to want to cooperate. Do y'all just buy pure vanilla extract at the grocery store and pour it out on your corn?!

I mix mine with water (3 ounces vanilla to 9 ounces water) in a 12 oz. spray bottle and sprayed down the hand corn liberally. Also sprayed it on me as a scent cover

If you mixed it with corn and put it in your feeder would this mold up? If not how much should one use per 50lb bag to avoid mold growth on corn? Thanks!

Why is it that every time I push #1 for english, I cannot understand the person on the other end???

Ok so here is my report.
We used to have a guy that swore by vanilla and wouldn't use anything else but I have never tried it. So I decided to get a bottle and bring to the lease with me and give it a try since I haven't seen one deer except on camera. Me and my boys got to the stand about 4pm and I put it around our area. And about 5 I had a small buck and 2 does come in and go straight to vanilla and start sniffing around. I don't know if it will work every time but it did on this occasion. I be using it a lot more now.
And there was no corn involved.
