I had always been on the search for a BIG 30 cal... played several i.e: 30-408, 30-378 imp, 300 RUM imp...

none really did it for me.. they were either to finicky or a lot of work for little gain...

About two years ago I found the 338 Excalibur case.. took it and necked it down to .30 and improved it.

Well two years later after I finally decided to spend the time and try this out... I shot it some this past weekend.

loaded up the 240gr smk and my test load had it running right at 3240fps...

stretched it out to 700 yds this weekend.

from the left... 300 win. 338 Lapua...30-338 Excalibur.... 338-408 imp.

Ill do some more testing in the next few weeks... it shot a 4" group at 700 but I really need to spend time time with it at 300 and at the chrono to get it tweaked in.. but overall a 240 smk going 3250 with an ES of 14... ill take that! banana I can figure the rest out... up

Also had out some first time long rangers... My buddy Shanon showing his wife, Misti some tips shooting my 6.5x47 at the 700 yd target... she did great!

Also Lacy and Donavan's first time at 700... They nailed them as well!

Good time was had by all!

Sounds like it could be punishing off the bench without a break!

As always, you got some cool toys!

That's Bada$$!

30-338 Excalibur just sounds cool by itself.

Looks like a lot of fun. I wish I could get to shoot outdoors more often. I've never shot more than an AR for rifles. I want to try some long range shots. Probably end up wanting to build a long ranger afterwards. That black one in the second picture is beautiful.

That is awesome. What was your hold at 700? I am not sure what I like more the gun or the shooting table.

I think it was 11 MOA up to 700 yds.

I'm going back down to the coast this coming week but when I get back I'll have time to stretch it out again and get some video. I think I'm also gonna try the 215 berger... Probably around 3400fps.

Nice setup.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.
