Spell check: Swarovski and no comparison, worth every penny if you can afford them and want to spend the money. For the money the. Vortex or minox are hard to beat.

I purhcased the Vortex Diamondbacks and have been very happy with them. I like their performance in low light conditions as well as when I am looking deep into the tree lines. The diamondbacks are a tad on the heavy side and would be uncomfortable if I were using just the neck strap. I HIGHLY encourage the use of the bino-harness with these binoculars.
For the price that I paid for them at www.cameralandy.com I feel that my hard earned dollar was well invested.

Sorry about the spelling! I didn't know this was a grammer class going on but I'll try and be a little more careful from here on out. But since we're conducting grammar lessons I'll point out the fact that there was no reason for the period after the word 'the' in your sentence above

As far as worth every penny, maybe in your eyes, not mine! And by the way, I can afford them but still will not pay the price they get for them! I've looked through more then just one pair and will stand by what I said the 1st time, IMO just not worth all the extra dough! If you like them and they are that much better for you that is awesome.

Hey, BMD, I've been meaning to ask you if you've shot your good deer this year. I saw that your daughter killed a fantastic management deer early in the season but I don't remember seeing you post a pic yet?

Are you guys on MLD or does your season end this Sunday?

Since we're on the grammar kick, I thought I'd point out that "world" doesn't need to be capitalized!!!

Just kidding, guys. I'm also looking for a pair of binoculars. Great information!

No deer for me still here but it is done, 50+ days total this season, passed a few nice bucks early, but daughter had a great season and that is more important to me than me taking a buck, but after the 175 last season figured I was due a season without a buck, guess that is why it is called hunting the panhandle was tough this year. Happy New Year to all!

Field and Stream had the Leupold Mojaves as the best pick for "cheaper" binoculars. They are $399 for the 10x42 at Cabelas.

Alright, another English teacher!

Does english need to be capitalized? LOL

God, I absolutely hated english in school!

My wife teaches 3rd grade but is also a reading specialist. I guess I'll ask her or my 7th grade daughter to proof read all my posts before I make them from here on out since we're being watched by the grammar police! ILMAO
I sure as hell can't ask my 10 year old boy to because he hates it just like me! He is a complete wizz with numbers, science......everything but english...imagine that!

Happy New Year to you as well. I hope you get another monster this year. If you set your bench mark high, like you have, without a doubt there will be years that you don't put one on the wall for sure. But IMO, if you pass up enough of them, sooner or later the one that 'trips your trigger' will show up! Good luck.

ILUVBIGBUCKS,

I understand your points, but if you had really good bins you wouldn't go through them every five or so yrs as you stated. People forget that with really good bins also comes better construction not just better glass. You don't "buy" a new pair of alpha bins every five or ten years, you send them in for a "check-up", check all the seals, parts etc. then you carry them another ten yrs.

And believe me, I'm HARD on equipment.

Most folks don't spend hours on end looking for game, they just look at something they have already seen with the naked eye. These people propably will never get the full potential of any binocular they carry, so no use in spending the extra dough. They are also not using their binoculars to their full potential either though.

Hours a day looking through binoculars in bad conditions seperates good glass from not-so-good glass. Sitting staring at a feeder and looking for one minute at an animal that walks out does not. I'm not saying thats how you hunt, just saying.

Bill
