That's the same deer! It has the crab claw. Obviously. ......I hope y'all are right in your thinking that it goes away, I'm skeptical though. May have to make another post on this subject. I just don't understand the relationship between an immature spike, and a mature buck with the crab claw "gene" .
In my mind a spike is immature and it's genetic potential has not been reached.
A crab claw type rack in the deer world would be a expressed trait that once expressed will not disappear due to the environment. What would be the purpose for this to occur?

Looks like the same deer and looks like it has a crab claw...just a bigger crab claw than last year

just a bigger crab claw! same deer no doubt. looked 3 last year. baby face and doe necked. prolly 4 this year.

In any event ( I still believe its the same one, brows are almost identical between years) He is a nice buck and looks very healthy.
