some suppliers are really dragging their feet on bringing pricing down in the abilene area. All quotes are for re-cleaned corn, straight from the hopper by the ton or per 50lb bag. ACCO in abilene $295/ton, EZ Supply in Albany $295/ton, Higginbotham in Albany, $7/per 50lb bag starting tomorrow, Thorntons in cisco $8/bag, Co-op in Baird $8.25 a bag and finally the one stand out, and I know its straight from the mill, but its re-cleaned and augered into your grain tote is Gorman milling. At $180/ton this is much more indicative of what i expected to see for the area and where i think these other outlets should be pricing. Im sure you'll hear its old inventory that needs to be cleared out that has a higher pricing point, but futures have been really low for a long time. That inventory should be gone or priced to market by now. As hunters we'd be well served disseminating this info to the suppliers. Im all for people making a profit but in excess of $100/ton seems a little bit excessive.

Mr Buck, I was reading on a farming forum, where several large growers put in other grains rather than corn. They said the market for corn had come way down and speculated other crops to bring a higher return. Falls in-line with what your saying IMO.

Walmart had corn 40# fro just under $7. Brookshires has nice clean corn, but $8 per 50#

$5.99 / 50# bag at City Farmer Feed & Supply in Rosenberg. Best price I've seen around Houston. I picked up 1000# today. It is the exact same product that Buc-cee's has been selling.

For anybody thats interested, I just bought 10 55gallon barrels for 35.00 per barrel. Approximate weight 330-360lbs of corn per barrel. Just harvested last week, semi-cleaned( you will want to screen out as you fill your feeder)
The seller has two more trailers full left, provide your own barrels, limited delivery in DFW is available.

Valley feed mill in Paris is at $220/ton for bulk corn delivered (4 ton minimum for delivery).

Paid $8.25 just west of Springtown at L&H I believe it is called, small feed store on the west side of the road. I commented I thought it was a tad high, they said it was on sale from $8.75!!

I will likely get a few bags at Walmart, or pay the $7.99 at Brookshires Wish I could buy bulk and keep it stored, but I dont use that much now

And corn prices are way down I was told by my farmer that farms my place

Bought corn at Dick's in Flower Mound... $5.98 for 40 pounds They have a $10.00 dollar off coupon in the Texas Parks and Wildlife game book if you buy $50 dollars worth.... 9 bags... Works out to about $6.10 per 50 pounds

Corn prices are way down. It sucks. We got the same amount of money as last year with over twice the amount produced. But at least some others will benefit I guess. Stinks for the farmers though.

Talked to a buddy in SE Arkansas last week, His source is selling corn
for $200/ ton, cleaned & bagged and was told if he could wait 2-3 weeks to place his order it would be less. My nephew wanted to know if I wanted some from S Arkansas for $6.50 for 50# bags. I had to look all over the county to find it for $8/50#. I stopped by Valley Feed at Talco & it was $9.05 for 50#. If I can find out where Nada, Tx. is I am going to get a trailer load or a ton which ever comes first.

Nada is a long way from Pittsburg DLALLDER. Good luck finding a good source.

good to hear that!!! will be by there this Friday or Saturday to pick up 1,000 lbs for Llano lease, then another 1,000 the following Friday for feeders in Ozona after a 3 day dove hunt in San Angelo.

You sure on that because i think my dad called him and it was higher than that ....he is one of our dealers also so he wouldn't be trying to up the price i would think.
