Absurd statement, but agree to disagree.
How does one breed taste better than another? I would bet good money you can't taste the difference between a longhorn and an angus.

Well, various breeds marble differently, which radically effects flavor for one.
This is a beyond dumb conversation.

One will taste like tender beef the other will taste like boot leather flavored beef.

One will taste like tender beef the other will taste like boot leather flavored beef. Sure, but hey, beef is beef. Odd subject to take a stand on.

So the breed determines the tenderness? Interesting. I always thought age and activity did that. I've been lied to all these years.

You've definitely got some bad information somewhere. Obviously. I mean, I had no idea. Now I need to know more. Could you rank all the breeds for me, starting with the tastiest and ending with the least tasty?

I tell you the best steak I've ever had was "carabao".
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

Could you rank all the breeds for me, starting with the tastiest and ending with the least tasty? There's not much point. They all taste the same to you. Your tongue pretty clearly isn't functioning properly, so stick with your longhorn sirloin, save money, be happy. Everybody wins.

Guess my taste buds are fried, because in most cases, I prefer venison over beef. I still buy a ribeye here and there and will mix hamburger meat 50/50, but prefer venison.
Deer taste different based on the region and what they eat though. Some aren't as good.

They also taste different based on how far they run after the shot.
I tracked one for 4 hours and a bunch of miles once that ultimately tasted like a sweaty sock.

kind of what i was thinking, i have had WT backstraps from different deer that tasted different, why is it hard to believe that beef from different breeds of cows taste different? heck/shoot/dang, you can even get different grades of beef from the same breed that taste different.

If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

What an animals eats will effects the what it tastes like IMO. You have a deer eating a lot of corn and the fat will taste much better than a deer eating certain browse plants. Same with beef, a calf finished on corn will taste much better than a calf finished on milo IMO.

Which is exactly why I'm buying a calf to feed out on my couple of acres of grass. No hormones, no extra chemicals, and only grass (plus hay). I'll be butchering it out and providing beef for my house and my daughter's.

How cattle are fed, raised, and their age determines flavor. Take a longhorn and an angus, all else being equal, you won't know the difference. Stop believing the pure angus hype.

Because they were raised different. You pretty much pointed that out yourself. A beefmaster doesn't taste different from a Santa Gertrudis because they are a different breed. It's because they were raised in different conditions. Same as two whitetails tasting different.

Sneaky, you made a dumb statement, you know you're wrong, and now you're going the route of overkill trying to dig yourself out of your own hole of dumb.
The Texas Longhorn Cattlemen's Association website specifically states on the front page that longhorns are far leaner by nature than other variety of cattle producing a "leaner, healthier beef". I can agree that they're definitely leaner and thus healthier, but that also comes with, "much less flavorful" as a side effect.
So unless you believe that fat and marbling has nothing to do with flavor, which is factually inaccurate, you're plain and simply incorrect.

I have had great venison and great beef. Also have had horrible beer and venison. To me, venison is an acquired taste like beer and wine. I like deer more than beef in many situations, but I am not going to give back any Rib eyes or Filet Mignons from a cow. I guess it depends on the dish as to what I like to have in it...like Chili, can't beat deer and duck chili! If a steak on the grill, give me a Ribeye from a cow or filet from a deer or cow.
