I've been kickin around the idea of buying a Yugo M92 pistol to sbr, but went with a Polish Hellpup 10.5" pistol instead. Jim at JBI Armory suggested it, and I had him do all the work to it(Installed rear trunnion, attached fake can, and engraved it). I found a really nice set of new take-off Bulgarian plum furniture for it too. Very happy with the end result...will be even happier when my tax stamp comes in.

I saw those vids before I bought it...do you have personal experience with it? Are you suggesting the m92 would have been better?

No personal experience, but Michael, MrGunsngear is a COMBLOC junkie. Anything AK/VZ/O-PAP/N-PAP and all the other letters of the 7.62 and 5.45x39's.
I trust his evaluations and reviews on these type guns.

This guy too is AK awesome...

Fake can is permanently attached until stamp comes in, then it comes off. I liked the fact that the m92 has the hinged top cover...didn't like that it doesn't have chrome lined barrel or take standard ak handguards. Still a cool candidate for sbr.

Picked up a mini draco today. Not sure if I will SBR it or just keep the brace on it. A little work and some parts turned this:

My yugo pap is my favorite SBR. Several buddies have them as well, all run flawless out of the box and 399 for gun, 175 in stock parts its unbeatable in price. Chrome lining doesn't mean anything on a semi and I never run corrosive ammo. Heck I have a beater non chrome lined beater AR upper I run on my M16 at demos and its still pretty dang accurate after all these years.

just to clarify, I wasn't trying to start a pissing match with everyone who owns a m92/85. If that's what you have, great! I have never owned one or fired one. I'm guessing you, and the other yugo owners who posted, have never owned or shot a hellpup either. If you had, I think I would be hearing specific, first hand info on why one is better than the other...which wasn't even why I started this thread. Basically just showing off a new toy and that there are other options! Instead I hear that non chrome lined is better than chrome lined and how unbeatable your price was...really? I was a little hesitant to even start this thread because of responses like this. Everybody wants to justify their own decisions by talking their own stuff up and anything else down. Which one is better?? I don't know and don't care. Mine works, and yours works...yay!
btw, my hellpup was right at the same price point and also runs flawless out of the box...imagine that!

Might want to re-read the responses before getting all but-hurt. Only one poster said anything about the reliability of your gun. I and others posted their versions of AK SBR's which is the title of your thread.

don't take it personally if you didn't talk about the reliability thing...my point was that most of the people who slam other stuff have ZERO actual experience with it...and you should re-read too. That was not the title. The title is "AK SBR project"...as in mine. Which I totally don't mind others posting their pics.

Was saying 92's weren't chrome lined or take standard ak furniture, not talking them down? LOL

I wasn't talking them down, simply stating that it had a chrome lined barrel and took standard ak handguards. They're different guns. You posted how chrome lining means nothing unless you're full auto, apparently just because I said the hellpup had one. That's kinda petty, don't you think? If my innocuous comment upset you that much you may be too sensitive.

You said it was a cool candidate for SBR, and it seems like he was agreeing with you. All this bc he gave his opinion the CL doesnt matter?Pretty butt hurt if you ask me...and even if you dont.

Not what I gleaned from the comment. But thanks for attempting to work with me on reading comprehension. Could you say butt hurt one more time...you know you want to!
