I'm looking for a good O/U shotgun. Something mostly for bird hunting but that I can take to the range from time to time as well. The two guns that have caught my eye are the Browning Citori 725 Sporting or the Citori Lightning and then the Beretta Silver Pigeon. Looking for a 12 gauge. I'm willing to spend in the neighborhood of $2k.
Thoughts on which is better? Or perhaps another suggestion besides these two? I'm open to suggestions. I'm pretty well set on the guns I have but the one glaring hole in my arsenal is a good O/U shotgun. I've been wanting one for years and it's about time I finally pulled the trigger, so to speak, and picked one up.

Both great guns. See which ones feel the best. Buy that one and then after shooting it a couple of times go get it fitted. At the same time check into a nice recoil pad. The Beretta may likely come with one in the box. Enjoy!

I wouldn't say one is better than the other. They're all top notch. Buy the one that fits you the best.
Also, we have a gun section.

I've shot both a million times, but I'm a Beretta guy, and the Silver Pigeon propped up in my safe is my baby.

Two completely different feeling guns. You can't go wrong with either, definitely go with the one that feels best to you and fits you the best.

Are you left handed? Back when I had my beretta silver pigeon they were all cast off for right handed shoots so being a lefty it was challenging for me to line up correctly. Beretta did offer to fix this problem for $200. I just went with a white lighting Citori instead since it was cast neutral.

Citori Lightning. I've had a 20 ga 20 plus years. Used it on Dove, Duck, Quail, Rabbit, Squirrel, Snakes, Armadillo, Skeet (taught my son to shoot with it), Clays, a couple ferral dogs running cows on our place and pumpkins. Never fails. I'm a lefty too.

I shoot Beretta Auto Shotguns so when I wanted an O/U I went to PU a Beretta SP. Did not feel right. Too light in the muzzle. PU a Browning Citori and like slipping into your best fitting pair of hunting boots, It just fit~felt right. Bought the Browning, tried Beretta several times but the Browning was my O/U princess. Still have my Beretta 391's, 12 & 20's.

Browning for me. Check out the cynergy as well X2 I have fired other O/U's but I prefer my Cynergy. They not only feel great but they are easily adjustable.

Thanks for the information guys. Looks like it's a draw. I'll make sure to get a good feel for both before I make a decision. I'll try out the Cynergy too.

I have a black Cynergy and love it. Some people don't like the space age looking stock but you can get one with a traditional stock in their classic model. I find it swings better for me than the Citoris but everybody is built differently and you'll just have to pick one up for yourself to know. Good luck with the hunt.
