Just fyi, I think your pricing is just fine. Closer to dfw than my current lease. And I pay more for my lease and still feed. I'm also one of those guys that don't like only 50 acres or less per hunter.

I certainly don't agree or disagree with everything said here but am not going to tell a guy how to manage his land. What happened to free enterprise and freedom of choice?

Don't know the place or the complete rules, but doesn't sound too bad. But, I have a lease.

Just for the record, I'm not trying to tell someone how to run their place. I was just curious as to why a group of four would be paying $1750 each and a group of five would still be paying $1750 each. I don't think my question of if a group of five were to lease would the land owner still reserve the right to hunt. I was also only suggesting that there are ways to prevent overuse and yahoo behavior. But what put me off was the condescending attitude that $13,000+ a year is no skin in the game and the attitude that if you aren't spending multiple thousands of dollars for annual hunting to have access to "millions of dollars worth of assets" makes you a "trailer trash" hunter (my words but reflects the attitude perception). And also for the record, I have three leases of which I only hunt two and don't spend $2000 per year total, including corn year round.

I am curious why you have such an interest in my thread, when you have no interest in leasing it to begin with. I am also curious as to how big your leases are that are less then $2,000 altogether. and then to say that a lease is really a "trespass fee" is ludicrous. You should try trespassing and see what an actual "trespass fee" is on the average deer lease. & then insinuating that I am just waiting to kick a bunch of good guys off. Why would I do that, if they are obeying the rules?

What I am appalled by is how many hunters hunt less than 80-100 acres each, & only throw out a little corn during season. There is a pasture up the road that is less than 180 acres and has 6-8 guys hunting on it. Your not gonna tell me that is good for the deer population. I think those guys are TAKERS, and a very negative influence on our overall deer herd.

There is a place for lease on here now that is 3 hunters on 320 acres for $1,900 each. Hell, I'm asking for less than that, & offering twice the acreage per hunter.

There is all kinds of leases for all kinds of hunters out there. I hope everybody gets what they want.

You keep throwing out the figure of $13,000, that is for 5 guys

OK, I'm pretty much done with this, but one thing I do know is that when you lease property to hunt you are legally purchasing the right to "trespass" on land that you don't legally own. What are you doing when you are on property that you don't own without permission from the landowner? You're trespassing . Paying for hunting rights gives you the legal right, secured with that fee to the landowner, to be on his property for the specific purpose that is agreed upon, to "trespass" on the property. I am also saying that as the landowner you can say how many are allowed on the property. And any dumbass that allows 6-8 hunters on 180 acres isn't much of a manager or landowner. Good luck with your lease- I'm sure you'll find the right folks that you will approve of to fill it.

Now that that's all straight, I'm pulling this lease until Sept, then I will offer it again.

I am placing feeder pens & protein feeders this week on this lease, as I want to immediately start feeding the deer protein. When the lease is re-offered in Sept, I will raise the price a little, & include year round protein feeding.

Thanks for all the interest from everybody.

This was just too bizarre. The pricing was fair and the allocation of acreage even better. It seems like a disservice to the individual listing the lease property to openly challenge their pricing strategy. I hope it didn't chase away any potential interest.

Yup, guess the mods don't make it to the land and lease section very often.

up Seemed like a good deal to me for someone and restrictions/request seemed fair. With so many looking for a lease, surprised it didn't go quick.

Good luck come September up
