Hey I'm kind of there with ya Sneaky. Not sure how tall you are but I'm about the same weight and 6'3". Just started back on cardio this week. I used to run three to four times a week and I'm going to slowly get back into that pace. It's been two years since I quit running/jogging. At that time I was doing 2 miles in about 15 minutes and weight about 220.

I'm just an inch shorter, Curtis.

I'm about to take on my hill again. Get my blood flowing first thing this morning before it gets hot.

Haha, I guess I gotta agree with you on that one too. I'm just gonna keep getting fit for the hunt so nothing slows us down and I can help.

Alright ladies, check in. What are you doing today to improve yourself?

I had some pistachios with my supplements, this morning. I'm about to have some smoked oysters to tide me over til lunch.

Just finished 4 or 5 reps (lost count) on my hill and 5 laps around location, all walking. My legs are really starting to feel it. Lovely morning for a workout.

It sucks at the time, especially starting out like this, out of shape, but you just have to force yourself to get up and push yourself to go harder than you want. Before you know it, you're done, and you're better off for it. One step closer to being in shape. One step closer to being healthy. That much more efficient a predator. And no regrets.

Sounds good.

I'll bet you $100 that you can't pack out a bull by yourself.

My doctor told me to drink a glass of water before every meal as a way to eat less.

Just finished knee exercises/stretching, 27 slow, proper push-ups, 2 miles brisk walk on minor hills in neighborhood. Greek yogurt and cereal for breakfast (like always). 207Lbs. at this minute.

Later on I'll start carrying a 12Lb. exercise bar like I have done in the past getting ready for a hunt. It weighs the same as my .416; overkill for the .338, but it's what I have.

I don't mind checking in and I appreciate you starting this thread. I think it's good to support each other.

Well then, Sir Sneaky. I may have to take you up on this bet when the time comes around. Mark my word on that one.

Haha, I may have to make this double or nothin' and take a little bit more of your money. roflmao

One thing that really helps me me is tracking everything I eat. I use an app called myfitnesspal which is pretty user friendly. I think just being conscious of everything I put into my body really helped me change my lifestyle, and it's nice being able to relate my gains / losses to nutritional data along the way. I found out the hard way that no matter how hard I worked out, if I wasn't pumping good nutrition into my body, I didn't get the results I wanted.

Oh yeah, and make sure you give yourself at least one or two rest days / week. I made the mistake of going too hard last year while running stairs in my apt. complex. I ended up straining my achilles tendon, which sucked, and forced me to take a few weeks off.

Ya'll sound like your really getting into this deal...Outstanding.

Slow & steady careful daily progress is what my Ortho guy @ Plano Sports Medicine, Dr Sutker ?sp told me after taking 1/3+ of my meniscus & the right Horn of my left knee after a car wreck in '03. He allways sez on his specialty of knees ..."it's easier to build on steady progress rather than cut it again and start over trying to push things too fast". Good Luck All.

I'm in excellent physical condition and terribly good looking.

Really nothing to improve on. My participation in this thread will clearly be short lived.

Ha ha.....I'll bet you can't pack out half a bull...they weigh 600-800 lbs on the hoof...field dress to 400-600 lbs. Boned out you could still be looking at 300-400 lbs.

Today's hike was pretty easy. First part was all downhill. On the 2nd leg I had a 30 mph wind behind me as I came up the slope. grin

Sounds good, guys. Keep it up.

Dang frac hand just lit one up right next to me. I had to check in.

I had a salad and half a ribeye for lunch. Just ate the other half. I avoided the baked potato.

This is a great idea, Sneaky. I'm in.

About 12 years ago I clocked in at 280 lbs. At 6'2" that's pretty hefty. I lost weight after my first daughter was born and got down to what I consider my fighting weight, about 190. Over the years the weight has crept back up and I'm at 215 now, about 25 more than I'd like.

It's time. It will take lots of running, weight lifting, and laying off the carbs, but I'll be there by the end of summer. I've got to find a stadium with some stairs.

I'm feeling that morning walk. It's gonna take a lot of willpower to get my fat carcass up that hill. I may take it easy on the hill, and swap out for some push ups, sit ups, and more laps around location.

I didn't know you were going for two-a-days. Let's be reasonable here.

This is just for starters. Once I get some legs and lungs back, I'll probably shoot for something every frac, except for the middle of the night when I sleep. That should be 5-6 short work outs or 3-4 long ones. When I work up to it, I'll probably do two all out, early and late, and some minor ones in between to keep active.

It's too late, now. You're in.

Started using the My Fitness Pal app on my phone again today. It a pretty cool app. Keeps track of every calorie I eat and every calorie I burn through exercise. I used it to lose 40 pounds a couple of years ago but I stopped and gained most of it back.
