FLIR is currently working on a sub-pixel zeroing firmware upgrade to the RS series scopes that is a major improvement in accuracy above and beyond what is currently available. I will post link to the upgrade when it is soon finalized....

Next firmware upgrade will be to improve image quality.
Another is going to be multiple reticule zero presets.
Certain upgrades have to be performed first in order for others to be enhanced later on down the line.....

There is a new accuracy improvement update to download for the FLIR RS scope available on the FLIR Personal Systems Resource site, the new MOA table is included in the download in a Microsoft Word file.... http://www.flir.com/cvs/americas/en/personalvision/view/?id=53129

Does this update make the shooter more accurate or the scope?
And tell us more about the aforementioned image quality improvements - can you post before and after photos that demonstrate the change.
THANKS

The zero adjustment resolution is now set to sub-pixel values, thereby making the scope inherently more accurate, not the shooter.
Most shooters need a couple of beers before they really think that they are more accurate, even if they are not.
See the attached Microsoft Word file in the ZIP file download with DFU upgrade for the specific MOA improvements for each individual RS series scope.
Image quality improvements will be forthcoming in the near future as the video driver firmware is reworked for increased maximum visual ocular output.

You can't buy that at Wal-Mart that's for sure!
Is that monitor water proof as installed?

Is that monitor water proof as installed? Are you kidding, this is a professional setup for use on U.S. Navy/Coast Guard ships in the most severe conditions imaginable? It is all 100% MIL-STD-810 certified mil-spec and IP67 waterproof, dust proof, vibration proof, ballistic shock proof, electrical interference proof, high temperature operational, low temperature operational, fungus resistant, solar radiation resistant, gunfire vibration and concussion resistant up to 30mm cannon. This includes the entire FLIR thermal camera assembly with electro-servo remote control gimbal rotational heads, the FLIR remote controller microprocessor, the Ethernet wireless router repeater, and the high definition color LCD monitor. Besides, it needs to be for when I mount the Dillion Mini Gun to the remote control server.....

I assumed all was weatherproof but wasn't sure on the LCD monitor and with it being situated where it is with no front windshield I was curious, that's all, just curious. I have no doubt you could probably launch a Tomahawk missle from that ride. "What does that button do?"

Left out the windshields since thermal emissivity does not penetrate pexiglass or glass, thus giving a 360 degree operational field of view at night. Hell, I can even zoom up into the trees on coons to snatch them out with the .22.... The Larson Electronic Mil-Spec 24 watt 850nm IR spot beam also allows driving around in total darkness using NODs: This is such a serious IR Blaster that only auto-gated imagers should be used as it will burn out a manual gain phosphor.

That is totally sick! How much for that setup? It was $7,200 complete with computerized Ethernet Joystick Controller to operate the pan/tilt electroservo remote control motors and the High Density LCD Color Monitor, but FLIR has a$1,000 cash back rebate if purchased prior to June 30th, so I took advantage of that, so total cost with everything was $6,200. I did the install myself, saving about a $1,500 charge from a professional marine thermal installer. It certainly makes for a bad [censored] night hunting rig, the FLIR thermal can pick out hogs in the cattle pasture from the cows about a half mile out and detect them twice that. Great addition to the farm for covering the 2,400 acres day or night! The 850nm IR Blaster allows me to cruise around using NVO and no visible lights. The hogs and coyotes never know what hit them!

Also installed a waterproof IP67 Marine 12V powered USB port direct wired to the 35Ah battery for charging up the FLIR RS themal weapon scopes, FLIR LS/PS thermal handheld scanners, Garmin GPS, and I-phone whether or not the engine is running. The FLIR RS64-35mm thermal scopes battery lasts so good, I never bother to charge them up until coming back to the hunting lodge the next day though.... I'm going to get me another RS64-35mm just because they work so damn good and kill so many hogs and coyotes!

The 120 Amp Battery Isolater keeps the primary starter battery from being drained and allows all of the FLIR electronics to run off the AGM 35Ah Auxiliary Battery whether the engine is running or not, then when the engine is running the 450 watt stator charges up both the primary starter battery and the auxiliary battery. Twelve hours operational time on the FLIR only lowers the charge to 12.5 Volts DC, so can run 24 hours non-stop without worrying about running down the aux battery. Was out in the cattle pasture again last night with it hunting coyotes and could easily see the cows over one mile away in all directions, did pick up one song dog but he ducked out into the alligator infested pond in the center of the pasture and could not call him out....

The reason I am detecting so much thermal WIN here is this was after three hours of thundershowers in the middle of a downpour with a full length rain jacket on in hot humid conditions, I was thinking it would hardly work under those conditions. Can't wait for this fall when it is cooler out and the leaves are off the trees and the brush is knocked down!
