These were my first ones. A fellow knife maker friend of mine helped me.

This is 1084 and Bubinga

This one, the metal was found on my farm. It was prolly something that fell off my uncle's farming implements back when he farmed in the 70's. That is Purple Heart wood and poured pewter.

back when we used to eat housecats we marinated them in louisiana hot sauce and soy sauce then season them with lemon pepper........then onto the grill slow cooking them 3 hours........excellent folded in tortillas and pico de gallo----Newgulf

You are hooked, your allowance money has now been allocated to tools, and more tools, supplies and more supplies. Your free recreational time will soon become non existent, you will spend every waking hour thinking about knives and the designs you want to try. You will no longer have visions of sugar plums dancing in your head as you sleep, now your dreams will be about steel, tools, scales, designs and everything else pertaining to making knives.

Pretty good start, now get ready for a ride... up

Here are some of my custom knives. I have several more that are not shown. There are a couple Chris Reeves knives that are custom production the rest are truly handmade and a bunch of them came from the THF...

Here is my contribution. Not one I made but the most useful knife I have ever owned. Without a doubt at $20 its the cheapest you will see on this thread as well. clap

Mike,
Your version of the Sharpfinger is awesome. Is that Deserr Ironwood?

Its was made with 154cm I believe. The end functions as a bottle opener. The handles are black and blue G10 scalloped for the look. Thanks!

I only have a few experimental knives to show from this weekend, each of these have an experimental aspect to them. Something I have been wanting to try for a while, the results are so so.

This one I wanted to suspend a OU ear ring in casting resin, it didn't work out as I wanted. I had to show it to a few people to see how they responded as I am very tough on my own work and wasn't happy with it, everyone else liked it. this one is 5/32" thick cmp154cm at 8" long with 3 1/2" blade.

I try my hardest to make my knife handle as round as possible, on this one I wanted to keep the sides of the scales flat, now I remember why I make them round they look better...lol. This one is 8" total 3 1/2" blade 3/16 Alabama Damascus.

This one is my favorite I did a differential heat treatment on this knife by clay quenching, I then parkerized the blade. This one turned out to my liking, so much so I may keep this one myself, the size is cool. This thing is 3/16" thick at 6" total with a 2 1/2" blade.

It's no surprise you didn't like it with the OU ring in it. I bet if you put a Longhorn ring in it, you would like it way better. rofl
I'm just funning ya. I really do like that bottom one! You are on to something there! I bet 1/8 1084 would be killer!

normally that profile and size I make from 1/8" steel, this is what I had laying around. I stopped using 1084 a while back, I like it, but decided keeping up with 1095, 0-1 and Alabama damascus was enough offering on the high carbon side.
