Here's a kitchen knife I'm making, 440c stainless, I'm going to use 416 stainless bolsters and thinking about some axis bone for the scales.

Mora makes a great knife. Sharpening is about as simple as it gets. I have the exact same model.

Some good looking knives guys.

I always like the look of a mesquite wood handle, blade from a file with a good skinning blade about 4"s.

Travis has been in Canada for nearly a year for work and hasn't been finishing knives. He's found a few knife guys up there and has been making a bunch of Damascus and forging blades. He'll get back to finishing knives when he gets back, maybe May/June.

Here is my collection of chops and MikeC knives, highlighted with a pic of my mammoth tusk folder by chops.

They are all examples of master craftsmanship and are prized possessions.

Wow. Some great examples of skill and craftsmanship. I have been fortunate to acquire a few knifes from the THF artisans. Here are some to represent a variety of makers. I am very proud of my collection of Texan Hand Crafted fixed blades and folders and wish I could show them all!

Although I am not at all interested in putting a knife up against any of these accomplished makers, I would hate to miss an opportunity to show what I've been making.

Rasp hunter.

Rasp and Micarta

Necker from 3/16" 1095 Scrap

One of my favorites. Made this from a SCAG mower blade for someone who loves these mowers. The top of the blade is the original beat up cutting edge. The SCAG logo is also original MFG: mark.

Catwhacker, That one with the cactus bolsters is awesome!

TexFire, The rasp knives look nice, but the Scag Mower Blade knife has a way high cool factor. Stic will appreciate your recycle skills!

Man, Charles, you pulled out some oldies smile I'm at a bit over 300 now, and Travis is in the low 100's, I think. You got some early ones!

Jason,
The Minchew, Kimmo and Newf all go back a ways also. I haven't seen much from them in a long time. I would like a couple of more from all three of them.
Your Spicewood Special is one of my favorites to use. It fits my hand very well and is easy to use. The mating of parts is just about flawless on this one. You had to be sanding and shaping for a month!

A couple of more recent examples from the Fry Brothers:

Very well built Jason Fry Folder (Unknown Number) in some really stunning Stag.

A Travis Fry Smithwick profile, #95. Another one that feels really good in hand and the canvas micarta has good grip in wet weather. (or bloody)
