Walter, I sure do appreciate it! I think we're good. I've got plenty of steel plates, just need to take inventory of stands, but I think we're fine on those as well. If it looks like we're going to be short, I'll let you know.

KRoyal,

Run what you brung! Just be safe about it.

Lol I'm very safe with guns, my buddy (not the one I'm bringing) almost shot me in the foot one time with my XD40. Ontop of it all it scared him when he pulled the trigger and he dropped my gun sights first onto concrete. After the shock wore off I looked down at the ground and the bullet was about 4 inches from my foot. Would have liked to beat him to death with a 2x4. 4 inches seems like a lot, but not when its a bullet hole that wasn't there before LOL.

Do we need to bring bags or anything to shoot off of? It has a bipod, but I'll be taking it off since it weighs the muzzle down pretty good. Not too good for standing off hand shots.

Yes, bring any bipods, back packs, ruck sacks that you may need to shoot from.

We can all hangout around the poor mans table..

Happy to be going but I honestly did think the payout would be a little bigger, though, just happy to be hanging out with some guys I have never met before and hopefully make some friends.

I couldn't care less about the pay out. $50 bucks to go shoot at an awesome range with a bunch of guys to meet in person. I'm almost positive I will not be winning, I'm just going for the fun of it. Heck the pistol range here in Sherman is $25 bucks per lane for 1 hour. Shoot for 2 hours and you have your entry fee for this competition with the chance of either getting it back or winning a little. I'm all game. $50 bucks is nothing to learn a little bit from the pros.

Will distances to shoot be known or told to us? Shoot by the seat of our pants? Use range finder?

Lol I have to use range finder.. I am absolutely terrible at judging distance.

Oh, dont get me wrong, I dont care which is why I still signed up. I was mearly stating that I anticipated a bit larger payout...but I still signed up. I also am not attempting to directly attack the pay schedule as others have chosen to do. I was only stating my observation and thoughts and that was it.

I am interested in meeting a few of ya'll out there, I am sure it will be fun and am looking forward to it.

I just paid $275 for a 2 day competition, and $50 is too much!!?? I think you may need to come out and see what is truly involved before you can understand. It's not being done to make money.

Um ok...same place as here I assume.

I'll never host one again - it's a thankless job and you always end up upside down.

I just can't help myself - this is for mr jbd76266-hole.

you must be a special kind of stupid and it just chaps my butt when you got a few guys trying to do something fun for people and you spout off your mouth like you know something. Have you even for a moment considered not only the cost of moving berms around, but the insurance and liability policies that have to be covered? How about the steel that can run upwards of $300/target? How about the cost of grad-8 bolts that are used to hold the targets up, or the belting that has to be bought? How about the 6-8 cans of paint? Notice how I have not hit on time and effort yet? How about any ammo certificates that Chad donates? Have you thought about the cost of moving the berms back yet? How about the 3-days of labor that Jason and Chad won't get to be around their families for? Let's ignore all of that for a moment. Do you think $712.50 is worth it for Jason and Chad to "have motives with"? How about the time that I will spend out there ROing the match to make sure you all have a safe and fun time?

If Jason is LUCKY he may not lose money on this.

Do me a favor and don't come, even if you thought about coming, don't. Hell I'd even pay your $50 just to tear up an entry.

talk about ungrateful - holy hell.

and before you debate me on any of the above keep in mind that yes, I do know targets cost upwards of $300 each, people will be shooting at them. Yes, I know there is $5-15 per target for bolts and belting that will have to get replaced and yes I know that it will cost about $100(ish) just in paint alone. Oh - the clay targets? They don't just appear from heaven, they have to get bought.

I just want to say I DO really appreciate what you guys are doing. I like the "small group" feeling and I think it’s going to be a blast. If my previous comments with regards to 1st prize were taken as "bitching" about the money, I am sorry as that is not what I was intending; I was merely passing along my initial thoughts. After reading more, I realize that I was putting my foot in my mouth.

I look forward to meeting ALL of you and hopefully more than just a few people sign up.

-Chris

I could really care less about the payout. I would rather just have a fun time shooting and get to meet some people I never have before than worry about how much money first place will get. Thanks again for putting this on and hopefully we can turn it into a yearly thing.

Hell fire, Chad! That's funny!

Get me a Patrick Swayze wig, and I'll wear it the day of the match.

KRoyal,

I though about it last night, and really hoped someone else would score just high enough to beat YOU to the table.
