That's a hybrid! Bluewing X cinnamon

Sure enough! I'm guessing you ate it?

Haha...possibly a hybrid

I haven't looked at that picture in years...Once I posted it, I was thinking the same thing. I did some google searching and there are tons of varieties, but not any that looked like it. I gave it to a taxidermist a few years ago, and told him it was a juvenile cinnamon. I'll see if by chance he still has it. I think it was still frozen and wrapped up, so he didn't look at it.

I've shot 5-6 in the last 10 years...

Here is a pair I shot this season (down south in Texas)

I've yet to shoot a cinnamon though, and I think I'd get it mounted just for the rarity aspect. "Most" don't look to great but I've seen pics of some that look GREAT!!!

I like the one I shot, but I'm hoping to get to Mexico or California and get a fully plumed one to add for the wall. Ideally I'd like another fully plumed slam to make a dead mount

Txbowhunt, when you come down to Mexico you'll be able to bring back enough trios to maybe do a dead mount, standing, and flying mounts with them!!

I've already have a flying trio mount, but I think I may be ok with another 2 trios. Twist my arm a little and we'll see lol

I hunt around Waco. Actually all our cinns are from the last three yrs. haven't seen a single one in the 20 yrs before. I'm thinking the severe drought in west tx may have moved a few this way.

This, I use to see a ton at my ranch headed north in spring,

But with no water for five years think they split the migration some moved further west some move back east
