Got a little bored yesterday and decided to go ahead and design/build a platform feeder. I keep getting requests for platform feeders, so I finally took the time to design a stable platform.

The bottom of the platform is just over 6 feet high. The legs/ladder were a little sloppy, so I added the bolts on each to take out the slop and it really made a difference in stability.

The standing platform is approximately 23" x 24"; plenty of room.

Thinking about adding a hand rail on the platform just for added safety / security.

What other things do you guys like to see in a platform style feeder? Likes or dislikes on this one???

Up next will be a double barrel stack. Will get started on it tomorrow.

The barrel just sits down inside the angle iron frame. I have been using a couple like this up in KS and was worried at first that the wind might blow them over when empty. Hasn't happened a single time and they stay empty for a few months while we feed protein in bulk feeders. Once you have a funnel and timer, etc on the bottom, they add enough weight to keep em in place.

A couple set bolts that would go through the frame and over the bottom ring of the barrel should be sufficient if it were to be an issue.

I have seen several others that have been spot welded to the frame, but I wanted to keep this as portable as possible.

Great looking feeder. I like the idea of the set bolts to secure the barrel. As Justin Wilson used to say, I believe in a belt and suspenders at the same time. Do you plan on adding these to your line soon?

Thanks Mikel H!

I decided to go ahead and start using the set bolts on all of them.
I am adding it to my line, just haven't had a chance to update the website. They are on the trading post here under "platform feeder".
