I used my Remington 300 Ultra Mag, definitely more gun than you need but I use it on all my trophy hunts becuse I have so much confidence in it and plus if I make a questionable shot it is much more forgiving.
Most shots we took started at around 250 yds out to 350 yds. so you need something that will really reach out accurately. I was sighted in for 250 yds. using 180 grain Remington UltraBonded Core Locks.
