LO does not use the land per say. There is a Farmer who runs an operation and from what I understand his company contracts out or hires the ranching group. Not totally clear on that. There is also the gas guys.

i have many good reasons not to. good people and good friends on the lease, good land owner. get to take my daughter or friend without huge restrictions other than tag sharing on deer. i have no desire to leave.

We are in Palo Pinto too. Caught huggers twice already this year. Once as they were jumping the fence I was about 500 yards behind them hauling butt to try to catch them. Once on camera. Cousins saw two pitts at the feeder early in deer season unfortunately he didn't…. well you know SSS. Other day was in the blind and heard bay dogs go off within a half mile or so and an hour later they must been out there blowing an air horn to try to get the dog back Im not sure could have been the oil and gas guys doing something?

That german shepherd may or may not be the same one but they could very easily have a few from the same brood. If they are using the shepherds as bays they don't have to have cut collars if they don't catch too. By the looks of it with that girly out there they are trying out for American huggers.

How well do you know the other hunters on the lease? Is it possible the other hunters are allowing friends or family access?

I understand where your coming from. But....if you choose to stay you should understand that this problem will continue. Once the ranch hands and farm hands know that it's an absentee land owner, they can basically get away with whatever they want. Once you post pictures and go on the forum they can easily harass your hunting set up without ever trespassing. Once they know you have cameras, it is very easy for them to circumvent. If your going to stay, you'd be better off coming to an agreement with them on hog hunting. Then they will at least respect your property. The LO is not going to want to lose the ranching and farming revenue along with the ag exemption.

very well. i have known two of them for almost 15 years. was not them. matter of fact, most of them rarely come out themselves.

i get what you are saying. as for an agreement, not sure that will happen as the bridges were burnt from the other side. there was even a request to meet with the rancher previous to all this and it was suggested that we just stay away from him and that it would do no good. i/we understand the economics here at play. we are the small fish on this land in terms of revenue for the LO. still, i do contend he is a good guy.

If the "good guy" LO is the one who suggested to you that you not even try to approach the rancher about this, he's saying that if you want to continue the lease arrangement this is something your going to have to live with. He's not ever going to press charges for trespassing, so you have no recourse. Bridges can be fixed. If your going to stay I would at least try to talk with them and work it out.

sorry, no it was not the LO. from my understanding it was Farmer. Rancher's boss. i think the impression was given that Rancher has no desire or time to make nice-nice with us lowly PITA Hunters.

Their point of view is the hogs cut into their agriculture harvest and destroy potential grazing for the cattle. If you get along good with the LO, then I would ask him to arrange a pow wow with the farmer. Express to him that you can live with the hog hunting as long as they respect your property and communicate with you to make sure it doesn't mess up a hunt while your there.

farmer was contacted again and he reiterated none on his team was involved and said that if they were immediate termination would occur. sounds like he is serious. also, here is where it gets interesting. apparently now we are finding out that rancher has hog dogs. and rancher wants to find these people too because we apparently think he did it. we also find out that the 101 is experiencing the same issue (trespassing/poaching or something). now hands from our ranch and 101 are "comparing notes". wonder what notes that is. i guess they could be comparing whatever they have to my pictures. i am sure they have my pictures from this post. i know oiysome if not most of them are aware of this posting. i guess they can get all info they need from this. now that i think of it, i wonder why they have not contacted the GW....

not sure if a GW gonna be able ta help. don't know all detail's. unless your pic's show something dead on ground. first lease was on, it had hogs & could hunt hogs 24/7/365. during deer season, we didn't hunt hogs at night. after deer season darkages GW said if hears about shooting at night, their Better be a hog on ground. was their several times during deer season & caught people hunting, that werent members. intoduced my self as member, they said they had gotten permission from another member. flag

Im dealing with the same thing, the farmer next to mes workers have been running everyones property. One call to the game warden got them a criminal trespass fine, unlawful use of a vehicle, and discharging a weapon on a public road. Guess what.....they were back two nights later. I hope you dont deal with the same kind of f*&^tards ive been dealing with.

This thread is hilarious. Especially the guy saying he would punch someone in the mouth for posting a picture of his dog. My gut hurts from laughing.

Please do. I got a single picture of a pack of hog dogs at a feeder a week ago. They all had gps collars. Our neighbors don't run dogs. I wouldn't SSS, I'm a dog lover, but we do have snares setup for coyotes. It would be a darn shame for some idiot to lose a dog because of his knucklehead trespassing ways. Might teach him a lesson though...Probably not.
