Would you carry it as a backup? Taking into consideration I'm not LE, when I carry a backup, it has to be concealed, I go with a j-frame revolver (M&P 340) with .38+p. I am just as good (bad) a shot with that as a .380 pocket gun, but with almost equal comfort in concealing, I go with the larger round. What do you use now? I imagine if concealability is not a factor, I would want something with common mags, i.e. Glock 22 & 27.

Speaking to a small number of active LE, many times at GT, I find that the S&W Bodyguard .380 and/or Shield 9mm or .40S&W are popular, for reasons I can certainly understand. I'm just not sure where the 42 fits in. Seems like a pure Glock fanboy toy.

On a side note, my thoughts on the Glock 41? Yes, please.

If I were to carry a 380 for a backup gun, yes I would carry this. My "backup" gun is not for when my duty gun fails, it is for a get off me gun. During the fight, if it ever came to it, and I mean I'm on the ground on my back and clearly losing the fight. My duty weapon would stay in the holster with my right hand keeping it securely in that holster. The backup, it would be hidden from the bad guy, easily accessible by me, and a surprise to the bad guy. That is of course the very worst case scenario.

I see. If it came to that situation, where you are actually physically engaged, would you not prefer a revolver? Just for the fact that it can't be put out of battery. (I trust you know your business, and what works best for you, I'm just curious.)

I'll use one as a backup once I shoot the piss out of it and make sure it's all Glock.
