why so much hate for the 380 yet everyone wants a nine. It makes no since. Run it with some +p and be good to go. Defiantly would make a nice little pocket gun.
Walter Because you can get a 9mm that is not much bigger. Ammo is cheaper too. These guns are made to be small carry guns though. If you really have to use this gun in self defense the difference in 9, 380, or any other handgun caliber is not going to make a big difference in the outcome of the situation. I actually like this glock, which I have never said that before. It fits the bill for a small light gun. I think it is worth checking out. Walter

Walter That Glock 42 is bigger than the Ruger LCP, so I bet it is a little big for pocket carry. It also appears to be the same size as the S&W M&P Shield, which is available in 9mm and .40. Why should I choose the Glock? BTW, this is coming from a huge Glock fan boy. Glock missed the mark and made a pistol that is not wanted by the market. Glock buyers have been asking for a single stack 9mm for years. Make it the size of the 26, but slim it down with a single stack magazine.

The Shield is a tad bit bigger, but not enough to ever make me choose the Glock over an LCP for 380 or Shield for 9 or 40 in a slightly longer barrel and slightly wider mag area.

I completely understand what your saying. Just playing the devils advocate. But, I am not a glock fan at all. I actually do like this little gun, and will probably pick one up when I can find one easily. I also have shot the shield plenty and don't care for it much, the sub compact and other models are great just not fond of the shield. To me if I am already carrying a 9 the 380 is not enough difference to make a fuss over. FOR ME, it would just be a gun for sometimes in the summer when I am working a need something with a little smaller profile.
All that aside my edc is and will most always be my 3 inch 1911.

To me, the Ruger LCP and the Kahr PM380 are the only guns that justify the 380's continued existence in the US. They are small, that is the only thing those guns have going for them. Kahr and Sig both make 9s that ar g42 sized or smaller. Kahr even makes a 45 that is almost this size.
I don't see who would want this unless you are really in love with with the the 380 cartridge or the Glock brand.
I guess the Guns And Ammo readers that haven't already bought a LCP might buy it but Glock would have to price it below $300 and we know that aint happening.

Although I'd never buy one, if I had to choose between the Glock 42 and any of the other 380 carry pistols out there I'd choose the Glock. I'm sure everyone that has an LCP has had no issues and their gun is "100% reliable", but my experience was not the same with any 380 platform (outside of the Bersa). I gave up on the pocket 380 awhile ago and the Glock 26 has been my go to for about 5 years now.
Now if Glock were to produce a single stack version of the Glock 26, I'd be all over it. But 380....no thanks. I'll stick to 38 special if I want that caliber.

Did I miss the price? Is it cheaper than the regular double stack versions?
